    • Smoke/Fumes from the Engine

      Guys,

I was riding back to my house yesterday in the night and it was raining moderately. Some Smoke/Fumes were coming from the engine. Do you think there is some issue or Is it only due to the rain. The temperature gauge was just half-full. At one point, I could even feel a hot liquid droplet sensation on my socks. Not sure if it was one of those water droplets getting heated on the engine..

Anyway, Today morning..No rain and the bike was just normal.

This is nothing out of the ordinary. 5 of us were riding in the rain on Sunday and noticed the exact same thing on all 5 Dukes. It is just the heat of the engine evaporating the falling rain. Not sure about the hot liquid droplet sensation on your socks, but I assume that too is just the soaked water getting heated by the engine.
You must admit though, the steaming engine does look way cool!

I heard coolant overflow is normal and continues until it settles at its comfortable level. so im not topping up until falls below the min mark.

i never faced this over spilling of coolant

but glad to know that nothing serious about it

This is normal.I feel it all the time when I don't ride wearing shoes. You do get that heated particles hitting your feet sensation.Especially the left foot

that's the header of the exhaust pipe bro..
unlike other bike, the duke header designed through the side of the engine..
this type of header is famous for dirt bike / supermoto, which is the bloodline for Duke

                              1. photo effect
                              2. the burned stainless color which you'll get from riding the bike ( you'll get the darker color faster if you ride it hard )
