One more thing what rating petrol do u use and what brand?
I normally use premium brand of fuel, which is 91 octane plus additives. Mostly try to have Indian Oil, but do end up filling from other stations too, blindly believing that everything in metros(even the normal fuel sans any additives) is 91 octane. I'd have preferred shell super, but the one pump which Navi Mumbai has in Rabale, is closed for quite some time now.

I think petrol sold through Bharath Petroleum Outlets across the nation are now 91 Octane regardless of whether its Speed or the Regular one. Do correct me if I'm wrong here.

Yeah!! they do have a speed 93 and speed 97. The 93 is available only at select outlets and the 97 probably only in a single outlet in Mumbai I think

The engine stalling problem still persists on my bike.
The exhaust note do soften up after the runin. But you'll get the grunt back once you cross 5000 RPM. Below this it will sound somewhat like an apache. I can assure you that this is purely normal.

The engine stalling problem can be caused by the engine braking, human error or dirty air/oil filter. Although there could be several other reasons. Try to observe and identify the situation/scenario where it occurs more and then contact SVC and if possible show them.

Or is it encoded in Vehicle Identification Number?
Can you please find out where is it on your duke??
I am sure that all Bikes manufactured has this number written somewhere. For CBR I think its written below the rider seat(not sure about the exact location). I haven't checked it for Duke, but I'll try to inspect this over the weekend and keep you posted.

does it have to do with the petrol quality or is it some other issue.. I have never experienced these before.
Although you got much input from others but here is my two cents. I have observed similar issue in one bike in SVC and the culprit in that case was a Cloth. He use to keep a big cloth below the rear seat. As per SVC it was obstructing the air flow. However, apart from removing the cloth they have made some other changes, so I can't comment whether the Cloth was the sole culprit there.

Petrols sold through any outlet in a Metro city has to be octane 91 irrespective of cast and creed. The premium ones are 91 octane + additive. Now it is also said that some or few of the dealers do not sell 100% genuine and good quality oil. I'll advice to go for COCO if that's possible.

            1. Combustion chamber pressure - 11.5 Kgf/cm2 (163 PSI).They told that the
            normal is between 10~13 Kgf/cm2.
            2.In,Ex valve clearance.Inlet - 0.09 mm(spec.0.08 ~0.12mm and Exhaust -
            0.18 mm (Spec. 0.17~0.2 mm)
3.Any malfunction in the ECU was checked with the diagnostic tool and
            nothing was recorded in it.

Since there was nothing serious in the engine, i was a bit relieved.

This issue started only after engine stalled 2 times consequently (within a span of about 100 metres distance).

Thats why i wanted to know whether the Engine Grunt disappears over a period of time and becomes soft else it is abnormal.

Since I wanted to use SS oil till 5000 kms I opted for Bajaj Oil which the SVC provided.

In second service I'll be going for either Motul 7100 or 300v.

I stay near the HP company itself so I get fuel directly from the outlet. So I never have to worry about adulteration of fuel (touchwood ).

I have been using Power right from the first day and haven't faced any issues till now.

            EDIT: BTW What is COCO?

Do they preform these checks during service or we need to ask them to do so. Any charges taken for these checks ?

Tis was not done in my case or for any other bike at my svc as far as I know. BUt the regional technical head mentioned one thing. Every bike coming to the svc for servicing has to undergo the KTM(/Bajaj) diagnostic tool test, wherein every ecu parameter has to be checked thoroughly to ascertain that all sensors and functions are working correct;y.
So guys when you do visit the svc, insist on the diagnostic tool test. If they don't talk to their service manager. They should.
