take a test ride, you will know..Originally posted by been there View PostTo all the dukes and duchesses
I see plenty of KTMs around where I work but they don't zip past others like you would imagine they would. And some actually get overtaken by splendors, and the el cheapo discovers etc. Is there a problem with it's acceleration at low speeds? or is it just the owner's driving styles.
PS: I have never seen a Ninja getting overtaken, not even by another Ninja!! So the doubt about the performance of this motorcycle!!

When you're on a Duke you don't feel the need to show off, you KNOW that you can accelerate faster than anything else.Originally posted by been there View PostTo all the dukes and duchesses

And probably most Duke owners are also more civilized, not a "show off just to prove themselves" type of people...

. The acceleration of the Duke is phenomenal ! Its how you see it.There are always a 100 bikes ahead of you on the road. There is nothing specific to a Ninja being overtaken, pepole might just want to slow down to admire the bike

This is common for high-performance cars as well: It is partly the owner driving slower to attract more attention from passers-by, and partly to avoid attention from law enforcement, as the police are more likely to pull over a fancy (and expensive) vehicle for various infractions simply because it stands out more in the flow of traffic.Originally posted by been there View PostTo all the dukes and duchesses

Put the phone away, put your helmet on, and ride!
Scooters are like fat girls: fun to ride, but embarrassing if your friends see you with one.

it may be cheap to you but it is serving someone's purpose,so next time don't hurt any owner's feeling.Originally posted by been there View PostTo all the dukes and duchesses

who knows may be the guy is doing lot more thing with his cheap discover than a guy riding rather showing-off his premium duke.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

True that on the bold line. BTW...just out of curiosity, what bike do you ride?Originally posted by extremerocker00Its not that other bikes like splendor etc. are better at acceleration than the duke. In road conditions, duke would overtake those usual bikes. However, at the same time, on highway, it wont be as much of a killer as been exaggeratedly projected by many. They have gotten a bit too carried away by the sentiment after they bought the Duke 200.
and hence the massive exaggerations.
There are other bikes for the purpose for a high speed and a solid highway ride.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

This question has been answered by me not so long ago. I used to ride Ninja 250R until recently and have sold it off. Will buy a naked bike (not sure which one as I am awaiting some options to choose from) next.Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostTrue that on the bold line. Plenty of replies in such as short time. Looks like the dukes are passionate about their possessions.
My body frame is lean and so I am a little bit uncomfortable sitting on larger motorcycles.Originally posted by vidy View Posttake a test ride, you will know..

I am slightly prejudiced about the road manners of some motorcycles users. I think I tend to stereotype people based on their motorcycles. It's probably a phobia, so I might see a doctor soon.Originally posted by sayank10 View Postit may be cheap to you but it is serving someone's purpose,so next time don't hurt any owner's feeling.

Its not at all a big bike.looks might deceive you in some angles and it weighs only 126kg kerb.Originally posted by been there View Post.

Actually, Few reasons that made me go for duke are its low weight and easier handling because i had a knee ligament (ACL) reconstruction months back. A test ride can clear your doubts.

Well Trolls do what they do best. Effectively ruin an informative thread with useless dribble. Unfortunately for people who want useful information they have to search through multiple posts of useless dribble before finding something worth reading.Originally posted by maverick1 View Post+++ 1

, jokes apart what you say is true sometimes we have to shift through so many useless posts which are present for only reasons known to the "'enlightened men''that we lesser mortals are clueless about their usability. so many times i look for useful posts by Mountain, bplus, vidy, anupam on wheels to name some of the helpful members cause the post moves back so fast in pages due to the above mentioned reason
