Which oil are you using ? I read in one of the other forums that 300V from Motul leaks from the cylinder head. " Motul 300v is really very good but you might face engine oil leakage from cylinder heads" --> Google this

Thanks for the info, Though the R-O sensor in my bike did give trouble once during washing, but the bike started and ran normally, It took some drying to get the fault light to clear.

Only 3 are used, the other 3 are spares..
Edit_- Will look forward to hearing about your experiences.. Ride safe.. CHeers..
Absolutely. Thank you for the input. Will follow further.

With regards to spares, am planning to carry only Clutch, Throttle, clutch lever, spark plug, headlight Bulb, a spare rim valve, tubeless puncture kit, air compressor ( battery powered ), pressure gauge, chain spray/clean + All tools necessary for chain adjustment.

Don't feel the need for anything else, however might carry some spare fuse as well. Anyone any inputs???
Carry a spare rear brake lever too, there have been cases reporting it breaking even with a small fall.

        • @jd666. Like Your id. Carrying a spare lever wouldn't be a smart thing. Instead try some other alternative for the gear lever and brake lever as it can not sustain a crash. I hope You are on the Duke owner's group on FB

Just had a look at the orange sol helmet !!!
Appears to be one of the craziest helmet on the street today and one of the best suited for duke, right now I am repenting my decision to buy ls2 for 4K
Anyways have a look at the link for the sol

Problem rectified guys. During the service the people at the SVC centre did not change the O-Ring after changing engine oil., which has to be changed mandatorily. So went today ad changed the O-Ring. And gave a complaint for the paint peel off and I will be called as soon as they get reply from Pune.. They have taken a photo of the paint peel off and mailed it to Pune R&D..

Awesome, that is the kind of reply I was looking for.

It so annoying to see pepole post a issue that they faced with their bike ->possible solutions pour in from some nice pepole->The issue gets resolved - > and the guy sometimes never comes back and tells how he got it fixed !

Which shop did you visit ? I will be buying a SOL for long commutes / Highway rides alone... will use my current LS2 crown for city commutes... Old Fox has also suggested in one of his articles to have 2 sets of helmets

It's actually cases Aravind... even Jyothi's brake lever broke during a minor fall. They are brittle for some reason... they are inexpensive as well... only issue at times is the availability of stock...

Don't fret over all this Aravind...whiners will always whine... bickering will never stop..thats how people are ... just learn to ignore such kinds of stuff and move on.. because of these types of people you get to build your patience level... I am really surprised to see you losing your cool over this, given that you and Rishi are really really patient guys in real life Chill maddy, as they say in Bangalore...

FYI its cases. Check out the comments for my post on FB. Lots of people have reported the same. I hope I am not exagerating things.

The last time when I went for the replacement of brake lever. The bill was Rs 291.00. Which is inclusive of labour and cost of the brake lever.

Okay, this is news to me. I dint consider that the rear could go for a toss, and in downhill sections all you can do is trail brake. This is a must.

Thanks, was active a year back when I had a bigger fleet of bikes, now its just from time to time, however am hoping to be more active soon.

                            yup, will be doing that.

I hope to do a trial run with full luggage filled with newspaper probably to see how the bike handles/feels, and whether everything stays secure or not.

Moreover the Yamuna expressway has just been inaugurated and I remember the thrill of doing 155+ kmph on it in a car during the F1 race. So it beckons

Just imagine there are lots of duke owners who are not in xbhp, FB etc. There might be people who have had broken levers but who haven't posted it. If other duke owners haven't had this issue they might have it in future with just a minor spill. No offense to anyone here.

Ive had the same problem too. The rear brake lever broke and the RH crash guard got bent and broke in the bottom mount. There wasn't a lever in stock so I got it welded... Waiting for the svc to call when it arrives. I removed both the crash guards as they didn't have that in stock as well. I don't have pictures as it happened a week earlier but I can post the welded brake lever and the broken RH mount for the crash guard later. Maybe it happens coz there's no exhaust or saree guard or fairing bulging out... It is a problem no doubt. But I'd rather replace a foot lever than have it shaped at wierd angles like most other bikes...
