thank god..no major injuries... but my duke got hit pretty bad .coolant leakage..crashguard bent..handlebar bent..rear view mirror smashed..scratches and scrapes,,. i have given the bike to the SVC..

no matter whether its my mistake or the scooty's.. result is me geting my wallet emptied..

drive carefully guys..especially on local roads where anyone could cut across anytime..
That's a pretty bad mishap bro.. What was your speed? I guess it would have to be around 60 atleast to cause that mush damage. Hope no one was injured.
Keep us informed of the cost of spares as well as other charges.
    Take care.

This almost happened (touchwood it didn't) to me yesterday.. One aunty riding her scooty just took a turn from the other side of the road and almost got in my way.. thankfully I saw her and honked the horn..

waise bhi i am really scared of lady drivers/riders. I almost got hit (while walking) outside matunga station. One lady was driving very rashly in the PARKING .. From that time i stay 20-30 feet away from women drivers/riders. I either slow down or zoom away.

No offence to lady drivers/riders but sadly that's the truth...

Btw.. you can always claim from the insurance company.

+1!!! you just put super glue on your swing arm worth Rs.6500!!! That's brave!!!
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Not to my knowledge. Try Online Shopping India - Shop Online for Mobiles, Cameras, Home Appliances ,Books, Jewellery and more from HomeShop18 saw a listing when I was searching for this in India.. however, it was out of stock

You need to decide on what you'll be using the bike for primarily. City Commutes the Duke is definitely better. If you are planning on touring / long rides in Highways, then CBR has got the edge. A better forum for you would be on the What Bike section as that will have both CBR owners as well as the Duke owners to help you decide. I looked at the CBR even before I was aware of KTM. However, ended up buying the KTM as I liked the riding posture compared to the CBR. Also, this is my everyday bike upgrading from my Unicorn, I felt this was better suited for city as well as touring. Cost wise this worked out way cheaper than the CBR. Hope this helps.

              • can you suggest some ways to convince my dad the design aspects like the kicked up tail etc. The main thing is that he thinks i might get into trouble with the cops if i'm riding a motorcycle which looks, from his view, very odd. Please help

DUDE... There are 1000's of Duke's on the road and not a single cop has stopped any of us.. Some did but just to check out the bike - that's it.

And Duke doesn't look odd.. It looks different as compared to any other motorcycle on Indian road.. It's beautiful

Tell your dad that there are so many "ODD" looking bikes like the R1's and VMAX's of the world. They are never stopped by the cops. Then why the Duke.

I had mentioned this a few posts back and wow man you did it. I would also do this mod rather than taking it to ASC and getting a reply "there is no solution for this issue "

I guess ASC leaves us no choice. Even i did a DIY coolant leak seal as ASC cud not fix it.

well my dad used to own an yezdi so he is used to the bikes with classic designing. Wat i need are some points which justifies the design which, in our eyes look different but in his eyes looks odd. Thanks

tell dad that instead of design its the fun to drive factor thats making me buy the bike just as you bought a yezdi in those days instead of opting for a scooter.

Hey a bit confused!! What is that you have done exactly? The glue was used to stick which plastic part? Or are you referring to the rubber bushing under the swingarm?
