  • Hmm.. that's a good idea man.. Thanks. I guess ordering one from ebay or amazon is the only choice we have, haven't we?

BTW I was going through Xena's website and they do have some amazing products.. Check out their zone alarm systems.. Things which you can get in $50-60.. Amazing stuff
The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

My daily riding is also office to home, but as the distance is only 5 Kms(one way) I have changed the route(while returning from office) and made it 25 Kms , so in total 5 + 25 = 30 Kms . I just love riding this Bike.
hahaha.. it is for people like you that this bike was made..

Hey i have a query. The manual recommends that we do not make any modifications to the electrical systems because they are sensitive or something. Does this mean that a HID system isnt possible?

Bro installing HID is very much possible.
Only issue is that ASC are always ready to void warranty at the drop of a hat, so try avoiding any electrical mods (rather any mods at all) till warranty is over.
Electrical system is sensitive as the functioning is dependent on ECU which has sensitive electronics. Other members can throw some light on this.

          • Duke Run IN

Out of curiosity. Does the manual suggest or recommend anything else other than the 7500 rpm limit for the 1st 1000 kms as part of the runin procedure?

The european 125/200 duke manual does not have any such reco. In fact the bike comes with RPM1 and RPM2 set at 10000 and 11000 rpm respectively. Is it assumed that the euros would follow motoman by default or may be the bike engines come run in from factory itself?
Am I missing something or being silly here?

              and
i could change only the rpm 1
but didnt get rpm 2 option

              • Get the XX6 model... that's got a 6-7mm locking pin that will fit the Duke.. the one shared by Aargee is a 14mm pin that will not fit... Xena XX6 is what most of us use out here.. atleast the noise will scare some people away...

Wait for around 15-16 seconds after setting RPM1 to access the RPM2 setting menu.
The RPM2 has to be hogher than the RPM1. They cannot be same. So if the highest possible rpm(and hence RPM2) is 10500, then RPM1 has to be at the most 10450

People from my office keeping their filthy asses on my bike when it is on the side stand.

How much weight can the side stand sustain? I am worried that it might just break because of this.. What do you fellas think?
Won't be a big issue(or atleast immediately) if the person don't put his total weight and for a considerable amount of time. But it can have it's own effect.

But I want a more practical solution. I was thinking about an alarm but then the original KTM alarm is heftily (literally) priced and I don't want local mechanics messing with the electrical of the motorcycle..
You can surely go for alarm but I have seen cases where few of the people just hit/kick/touch your bike cause it starts screaming!!! But that's a problem if you park your bike in an area where there is no security guard or attendant, Elsewhere the sound will attract the security guard/attendant to save your bike.

100% True ... Just today I had to stay at office until 2 o clock(in the night or morning ... whatever you call it). I was irritated/hungry/tired etc. But as soon as I left office and started the Bike, I forgot everything. Only thing I can recall now is that I was sailing, surfing, flying and zooming in the night.

The manual or for that matter every Bike manual is against any Mod and that is there for a reason. Any Mod done by any unprofessional and without calculating it's short and long term effect is bad for a bike. So for those cases the Company will not be liable to repair or replace anything that normally comes under warranty. So either wait for the warranty to get over or forget the warranty at all and start Modding. Choice is yours.

Not sure about the European one, but the Indian one do recommend a soft running in till 1000 Kms. I don't think any manufacturer across the Globe recommends the Motoman method atleast in pen & paper. Unless that method is proven globally no body(manufacturer) will recommend that.

Even the XX10 will not fit Duke?? Does the Pin go through the Drilled holes present in the Disc? How much for a XX6 in India? Any online store based in India?

                          • I am experiencing few issues
                            - oil leak from the cylinder head,
                            - some kind of noise while riding on bumpy roads, tightened the chain but, still the noise persists.
