Partly correct. The left one is clockwise and the right one anti-clockwise.

BTW, Has anyone taken the duke to leh, I plan to take it to leh in july.

Please guide me how to improve the seat comfort, as my A** was numb only after 20kms of ride.

better start doing sit-ups that can make your bumps stiff enough to handle duke's seat..
alternate way is to keep changing your position while riding.

actually i am also planning trip to Badrinath in July with my wife.. hoping every thing will be fine as duke's pillion is quiet short..
to increase luggage capacity i have bought rynox saddlebag of capacity around 52 liters that can be expanded to 72 liters..

ive used polyurethane foam for the seats and anti skid seat cover,
the seat is very well cushioned now and no more butt aches at all
but the only thing is it added 2" more to the saddle height
          .

and guys today i ripped the bike like usual
and the bike was lagging totally in the 1st two gears when i right open the throttle fully
its like some hiccup in the air flow to the engine and it takes a break and then revs normally again
can the air filter be the culprit?
ive finished 1350 kms and 1st service is done !

How did you install foam in the seat. Can you post some pictures.
Does an increase of 2" in saddle height create any problems?

I'm ! And it's actually funny how it shows up ! Did ~50kms and was waiting for a friend to catch up, switched off the bike for couple of mins, started it and it won't ! Turned off the ignition 5-6 times, and it started without any issues !

                • Chennai Guys... a word of caution..

Chennai Guys... a word of caution.. Went to the ASC for chain lubing.. they put my Duke on a Paddock Stand ( an orange one) and it was a bit bent.. the guy did say it's bent, however one of the other senior service guy told him it'll hold as it's just chain lubing... while cleaning the chain the stand gave away and my Duke fell down.. luckily nothing happened, the crash guard on the right side went in a bit.. very negligible.. no other visible damage as far as I could see..So if you go there, do ensure they don't use that paddock stand on your Dukes...

Thanks, but the sound that I am gettin is not that of a khat-khat wherein the chain is hitting the swing arm. Rather its coming from the front sprocket area and its a constant krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr kind of sound that is continuous and only stops when the speed falls below 15-20km/hr.

hehe i didnt do it myself man
the seat cover guy made it !
first i used a thin layer foam , he said it was u-foam or some e -foam i was not satisfied so again ive put this polyurethane foam over that foam and its super comfortable now

2'' saddle height increase is negligible for a tall guy but im kinda short so placing both the legs on the ground in a problem but i got used to it

I also had few issues that sadly still persists. Wonder if someone else is facing similar issue and is aware of any solution

                        3) The coolant level is currently touching the minimum level. Is is ok if I go ahead and top it up or should it be totally replaced?? Also if I can top up the coolant myself, please suggest a couple of coolant brands that I can get for the same.

                        Thanks in advance.
Kevni, there is no problem even when the coolant touches minimum as the reservoir is quite large below BUT, do get it topped up. As what i have read on the forum, company has filled Castrol Radicool, so you can use castrol. Alternately you can go for Motul Motocool, which is also an approved brand. Motul is costlier than Castrol.
Replacing is not necessary unless you feel that the current coolant is not doing its job, also its a tedious job as you need to flush out the reservoir, radiator and engine parts where coolant flows.

                        • Ktm Duke 200 Body Frame

Dear all, does anyone manage spray the frame of your ride which is the duke 200? I will be getting mine next week and the first thing I would love to do is get them coloured
The only person manage it which I failed to search on the tons of website, is the moderator Mr Sunny, I hope you can share the process because I am afraid have to dismantle everything including the engine. I have heard from a local motor shop saying that they needed only take out all the covers. I have not ride for almost 20years and I have no knowledge at all.. Kindly share for those who knows ya, thank you very much.
