Anyways, today i test rode 200 NS. Its a very different bike!
i was always craving for power and budget was never a problem , so it had to be the duke for me .. i was initially expecting ballistic duke kind of performance from ns , but i was just left waiting for the power during ns test ride ..

I dont think my 4 kms ride would add any value to the enormous information present in the thread. If you want a comparison of Duke & NS, I dont think ownership thread is appropriate for that discussion. Though you guys already have had an overdose of it. If you want something specific, do let me know.
Though I have added something in your thread!
lets start a seperate thread for duke vs ns .. a lot of people will have confusions like i had .. it will definitely be very informative and helpful ..

I had the opportunity to see the KTM engine being completely ripped open as that engine had seized due to a kid who revved the heck out of it on day 1 (the kid himself confessed doing so).The engine parts where of topnotch quality.Everything inside was neatly layed out without being cramped.Smooth and sharp is what I can describe what was inside the engine. The same day I saw a pulser engine and it looked very complicated and did not seem to have the finish the Duke does.

I am 100% sure that while you saw the Duke's engine you had a mobile phone in your jean pocket which has a good camera in it, better give it to charity.

You know what guys! Its because of such star performers/ kids that we have to pay high warranty costs.

            • Hi Fellow Xbhpins,

This is my first post on XBHP.

I have booked the bike in Bangalore and will be joining DUKE 200 Gang soon.

Good to hear that Duke's delivered from June 2012 are free of niggles.

I will be posting my experience with Duke and this might help in clearing the doubts about the issues of all the potential buyers as i will be getting the bike from new lot.

And finally some bad news for Bangalore guys aspiring to become DUKE 200 owners. " On road price in Bangalore is 1.43L 3K up from 1.40L".

Thats wicked !! I guess all these aftermarket exhausts void the warranty, other than the powerparts exhaust by sebring. Got any info on that?

JMHO, but those look terrible. Why would you want to waste money just to ruin such a clean design by hanging a big, clumsy silencer like that off the side of the bike? Not to mention ruining the bike's balance. You're not going to see any significant performance increase from it, because the stock silencer isn't that restrictive (it's one of the reasons they can pull 25hp out of that little motor). Since putting one of those on will void the warranty (not to mention the pollution control certification) anyway, why not just punch out some of the baffles in the stock silencer, and save the cash?

It means to break out some of the sound-deadening interior of the silencer. Makes the bike noisier, which is all those add-on mufflers would accomplish, but does so for far less cost than the add-on muffler would. It voids the warranty and probably the pollution certification just like those mufflers would.
