I've been Duked!
Picked up my monster on Sunday from Dewan Bajaj, Lajpat Nagar (New Delhi). Have only done 60kms so far. Will update with a few pictures in a couple of days. And yup, price has gone up. Dearer by 2500 in Delhi.
Buying Experience: The guys at Dewan Bajaj are nice and courteous. Thanks for the recommendations guys. Had inquired from them a few days back and decided to pick it up on Sunday. They had a lot of about 10-15 bikes to choose from. The sales staff is great but unfortunately at the time of delivery, they don't really have experienced engineers who'll guide you on how to treat the Duke, especially during the first 1000kms. The guy who was cleaning the bike and delivering it to me was revving it to 10k! The 'Shift speed RPM' setting was at 10,000 and 11,000 RPM (it's suppose to be at 5,000 and 7,500 respectively for a new bike). Dewan Bajaj owns a KTM only showroom as well in Lajpat. Went there as well with the bike and asked whether I should stick to a certain RPM and the salesperson's answer was 'Not really, no such thing'
even though it's the first thing written on the manual. Overall, nice experience, specifically because of the sales staff. The salesperson was raving about their KTM workshop in Okhla so will check that out soon.
First Impression: Fun, fun, fun. All my friends loved the bike - thought it looks amazing. Also gets a lot of 'Bhaiyya yeh kaunsi bike hai' reactions. Keeping the RPM low and eagerly awaiting my 1000km run in.Delhi Dukers on Facebook

This Monster runs on normal unleaded fuel(91 octane) and need no special fuel or pumping station for that matter. Though I regularly fed him with Premium fuel(speed, xtrapremium) but that's not mandatory.Originally posted by itsmenaveen View PostHelp me out guys,

I'm looking to buy this monster, Where can i fuel it up and with what kind of petrol?

But the original HL is also good re. Think before changing it and also confirm if it can void the warranty or not.

Got my handlebar and crashguard changed yesterday.
Total cost of the minor overhaul = Rs 1574
Had to change the following thins :
1)Handlebar
2)Right rearview mirror
3)Right crashguard
4)Both handlegrips
5)nuts/bolts neede for the above
6)parking/pilot lamp
Labour cost was rs 169.
What got my goat was not the cost but the time I had to spend trying to get the handlebar alignment right after they had installed the new bar. It was done by the junior mech first and I had to get the head mech redo it all over again to get it right. It's still not perfect. An ever so slight misalignment can be seen while riding but nothing to be overly perturbed about.
The parking light had to be changed. The low beam issue is still there and the svc suggested I apply some WD50 on the switchgears in the rains. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Did the SVC guy mention the reason/logic for that??Originally posted by Doga View PostThe low beam issue is still there and the svc suggested I apply some WD50 on the switchgears in the rains.
Can u tell how much did the handle bar cost??sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

The logic was water seeping in through the switchgear might be interfering with the electricals. Now I did not have time and patience to argue that this should not happen in a new bike.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostDid the SVC guy mention the reason/logic for that??

Another pic of my Duke 200
Now, with DbKiller Off
Still finding times to make the exhaust bracket

By the way, I installed Bikers' Bar-End ( originaly made for CBR150 )
Theoretically, It absorbs vibration so, making the handle bar less-vibe
I'll post the zoomed in photos..Last edited by stanley17; 07-24-2012, 10:52 PM.
