I use the Wurth Auto Shampoo which does not have carnuba wax and it keeps my bike clean and smeels good but with no extra wax like shine.I have not tried using a shampoo that has carnuba wax but I feel a good product like those made by Eagle One should be awesome as long as the instruction on how to use are followed. And yea it does save a lot of time and energy especially when you have a 2 liter plastic water sprayer jar.

Thanks for taking your time to share this with us.Very useful. The motul chain clean does a fantastic job with degreasing the chain and would prefer this over WD 40.

I have been going through the thread even in the state of 'ban' and read about a few downsides reported by some fellow biker brothers. I shall very soon post my comments on the same.

        • You probably checked the coolant when it was in side stand while taking the delivery and today you checked the coolant level when it was upright with out the side stand or the ground was not leveled

Yes, Bplus that is one common mistake that I am sure I have not made during PDI. Anyways the coolant level is almost at the min. mark but not below it. Hence no problems as for now. Lets see what happens after another couple of hundred kms.

Just top it up to a level between min and max and then do your observation

              • i have seen even 73kmpl on my console .. 75kmph cruise on highway feels very safe...
coolant should last for thousands of kms right ?? ,, around 30000kms ( have noticed it in my cars ) ..
chain gets loose only after every 500kms .. depends on the riding style too ..

                • GOT MY DUKE 200 - its mini Lamborghini !!!

From a forum troll, I got myself to be the official Duke 200 owner today.

I am going for the Hard Break-in of the engine , but also the general traffic is too slow for this bike to handle- the Radiator fan turned on twice due to somewhat high engine temp.Anyway I am busy loading and unloading the engine !!!

One question : what is the rate of consumption of the Radiator coolant in general of this bike ?

The rate of consumption of the radiator coolant is very less.I have done 9500 KM and had to top up only ones.Ideally you may want to consider a top up of collant which costs about Rs 35 every two months or so.During the initial 5000 Km the engine does tend to get hot and I want to assume that it is perfectly normal for a new engine. After the second service I have never seen the high temperature warning come up and the radiator fan does a good job to keep the heat away.If you see the high temperature warning pull over immediately and safely to the side of the road and wait for a good 15 minuets for it to cool down.Yes 15 minuits is approximately what it takes for the high temperature warning to disappear.Just curious why do you want to do the ''Hard break-in'' of the engine when the manufacturer feels that is not the right method to do it.Any concrete evidence to support your justification would be of help for me to better understand.Thanks.

The bike would feel a lot more free to clock the rpms, power delivery would be optimum................so does my experience say from all my previous bikes.

I cannot provide artifacts for a concrete evidence.........but after run-in my bikes are stronger than the ones of the same make.
Almost all prominent bikers in my city know of me and my bikes.

Interesting ! Keep us updated about how the engine feels after the second service while comparing it with a Duke that was run in gently

                          • Heyy Guyss.!!
                            I had a bit of a query..
My Duke has completed 950 kms and so the first service is due on monday.. I had followed the Run-In Procedure pretty properly and so after the first service it is ok to rip the bike straightaway from the svc itself right..??
Or should i go slow that is increase the rpms day by day..
Just cant wait to to test the engine..

Sry for such a noob question if u think so..
I wud prefer to drive on the road to hell.. rather than flying to heaven...

You are done with your first service so go ahead play around with your bike. Start touching redlines couple of times drive smooth and slow too...just mix it up. It doesnt really matters that much now. Although somr people do pamper their rides even for 500 or 1000kms more....but then its up to you. I say ride the bike enjoy!

Buddy, this is one of the mistake most people do..
If you have babied the bike during run-in then DON'T suddenly start to rip the bike.
Take the bike to ocational higher RPMs, and then keep increasing the frequency gradually. Do this for next 500-1000 kms.(its actually up to you, i.e. when you are comfortable that the bike is responding well to your tunes)

But, NEVER redline the bike or lagg the engine.
                                All the best.
