    This is a general behavior by most service centers irrespective of brand. You need to have a good rapport with the service center/mechanic. And yes they can deny if the spare/product is not the 'recommended' one, but cannot turn you away if you get say the castrol or motul coolant (which ktm recommends)

    Some folks do help out with such minor things and just charge for the labor.

    Replacing the coolant is a pretty straight forward job and you can follow the steps (first drain and then fill) from workshop manual that has been posted here earlier (search back a few pages). Try asking the mechanic if he can do it for you outside the showroom.

    Try to remove the clutch switch and clean it with some wd40 or a bit of petrol and fix it back snug, if not try replacing it.

      Also is there anyone from Coimbatore here who can refer me to a good mechanic other than the SVC.
      As suggested by s1d correctly, this is a regular niggle with the duke. Occurs more in rain. Get the clutch switch cleaned. Should take hardly 5 minutes. And give the SVC guys a piece of your mind for not knowing such a simple thing!

        Thanks guys I will give it a try and let you know how it goes. But I am really finding the SVC ppl useless, cause all they ever want to do is replace parts rather than solve the most simplest of issues. Making the ownership experience more expensive than it actually is.

          Guyz I'm a noob in handling bikes and my duke 200 is 12days old and have run 250kms.
          How often should i check the air pressure in tyres?
          And what all should i take care of??
          I live in south Chennai.

          My ten day observations with my duke;
          -> fast
          -> aggressive
          -> decent mileage of around 35-37(btw the display is showing >40)
          -> back seat, though not comfortable is user accessible for one side sitting too. But they prefer fazer more than duke
          -> attention seeker. So many people, since it's a new bike have been questioning about the duke wherever i park and stand next to it.
          -> dropped the bike on the fifth day and the foot peg broke, they're so fragile but the asc guys are so good and kind to customers.
          -> feeling vibes at >4000rpm, may go after first service due to FS engine oil i guess.
          -> little low on mileage.
          -> bike toooo eager to rev, would have got into accidents :'( am not used to this kind of power but will in a few days
          Overall rating of my bike 7.5/10.

              Haha I was talking about the stock sound of the Duke which gets muffled over time for most of the 200's out there.
              And by the way,what kind of noise you are talking about. I'll see if I can help.

                So am done with my 4th service today, roughly 9200 KM on ODO, got an advice note that I should get the chain set changed ( 2000 INR ) at next service . Assuming it will be around 11500 KM ODO reading at that time, isn't it too early for a chain set to be replaced ? Did cleaning lubing @ around 500 ~ 700 kms of interval.

                Please share your chain replacement time/KMs.
                Thanks

                    check tyre pressures every weekend/10days, preferably in a bunk near your home. Or fill fuel and wait a few min to check tyre pressure. Basically - tyres should be cold! you mustn't check air pressure after a 100km fast ride on ECR!!!!

                    check chain tension once in a month. try to learn tightening the chain. cleaning and lubing the chain is easy ~ 2 weeks. buy a chain spray cleaner and chain lube. I use Motul 500rs per can.

                    decent mileage 35-37! this will drop once you get used to the bike and speed.

                    vibes ll go away after 1st service....pray that you don't get new vibes after service.

                    which person sat behind you single saddle ? a very slim, healthy and adjusting person I think....this is the most tricky piece for me to visualize.

                    enjoy your ride!!!!

                      Thank you sir and i live in ECR.
                      My parents and my friends have sat in its back seat and my friends, they have no problem with it.
                      But my dad said it's ok but not comfortable, just accessible and you cannot move around and finally my mum sad on one side and sqeezed me like an ant.
                      She said it's not too comfortable but she also said that she was scared cause of the small seat and no room to place her other leg.
                      But one thing for sure, i felt reaally uncomfortable with my mum and both of them said that they liked the fazer very much more than the duke's one xD

                            Chain sprocket kit can wait for as long as it irritates you with its sound, it's completely your wish [emoji1] , no need to change it this early. Change it only when you can't bear with it. I know people who changed it around the 20k km mark . Bdw, how much did they charge you for the fourth service?

                              hmmm now the ride is not so smooth because of the sound it makes , so I might go with the change . 4th service was around INR 2564 (It's not 4th actually after 1st, I missed the 2nd service by two months, so they said they can't do 2nd I have to directly do the 3rd, and then paid 4th and this is the 5th service on booklet). Includes Oil change, All filters, Spark plug change , lubing polishing .
