The only thing similar in them is the price bracket they fall in.

The CBR and the R15 are supersports with aggresive riding positions and both are 150cc making 17-18HP.

Whereas the Duke is a Naked Street bike with a Supermotard riding postion and 25HP.
Because my family is hard bent against a 200cc bike

Thats understandable, in family there is a belief that bikes with a fairing are (look)faster (they dont really care about the engine capacity/power made :P )

By the way, do let us know what u end up buying and why

Guys, It is time for my bike to get its insurance renewed.
My current insurer is Bharti Axa and I see, IFFCO-TOKIO is offering a better IDV. Shall I go for it or stick to BA?
Suggest me any other alternative as well.
P.S. I am expecting Zero Dep as well.

No actually my family thinks i might end up dead in a trench or in an accident with ktm duke or pulsar 200 ns. So they are trying to stick to 150 cc bikes, my options are limited to Gixxer and Gixxer Sf. I am trying to add pulsar 220, 200 ns and karizma R to the list. Fingers crossed

What if I told you that using an underpowered bike is riskier that using a powerful one?

During a solo offroad hill climb in a remote location, I fell because my bike at the time, Discover 100 4G could'nt pull my weight past a point and the wheel kept spinning without traction, the end result as seen below, if I had come down with a little more momentum, I would've slid off the edge and that would've been the end of me.

If it were my ZMA or P220, I could've easily powered my way and had total control over the situation.

Guys is it ok to occasionally touch 5k-6k rpm for 2-3 sec's when bike is in Run-In period , can anyone share guide me as to how to safely baby the bike during Run in ?

(Note : My bike has done 50 kms till date )

Rule no.1 : Read the manual, and then read it again properly.
During Run-in ,KTM recommends to keep the RPM under 7500 rpm. You also have the shift indicator light that is set to blink at 5000rpm (indirectly asking you to shift to a hisgher gear) and then stays up lit constantly at/beyond 7500rpm (telling you that you are exceeding the recommended rpm limits)
So you can safely drive all day long at 6k rpm and going beyond 7500rpm for a bit is not going to cause any issues (FYI, in 6th gear @7500rpm you touch exactly 100kmph)

Occasionally you can touch even 7.5K but never forget to keep varying the rpm (dont stay on the same rpm for long). Don't baby the bike just ride by varying the rpm and at the same time do not ride on the same gear for longer time. This is what I followed during the run-in.

Hello people , Can someone suggest some good service center in chennai ?
I have been facing much of vibration lately after leakage from the front forks. My hands are numb after a 30min ride :-(
The guys at my nearest Authorized KTM service center took my vehicle for a test drive (2mins) and said nothing is wrong.

I am skip shifting these days on my duke when I don't need too much of acceleration, I also find it very comfortable. Short gearing at times gets really annoying when I have to shift to a higher gear soon after shifting from a lower gear.
