Is this true or should I be concerned about them. Also, will there be any price difference if I bought the Bike from Factory outlet when compared to a Dealer.

S1d, also there has been news that there are updates on the 2015 Duke regarding the seat, improved turn indicators to prevent water penetration, reduced throttle opening angle of 77 degree, improved front fork sealing and a new engine generator. Are these updates also included in the current selling models in the showrooms?
Yes, ive heard ppl say begumpet/hitech(vinayaka bajaj) they are 'factory outlet' or whatever. What is the advantage that you get from a 'factory' outlet ? Maybe they will have spares in stock.

Banjara/kondapur (varun bajaj) are also authorized dealers who sell ktm/ninjas.. and there will be no difference in price
I know ppl who buy the bike at begumpet, but head to banjara for service.. I prefer banjara, not only because its close to where i live, but i also have trust on the mech there and they allow me to hang around without any fuss.
Like i said, the current model on sale is the latest (ofcourse there might be a piece or two of the old stock, stay away).. all the stuff you have mentioned will be incorporated on it. And I have told you the simplest way to identify this model in my prev post.

Begumpet/ Hi-tech city branches say that as they are factory outlets they will not charge extra for the normal accessories (like side stand, number plate, foot pegs etc) they will come along with the bike. As of today they are quoting me a On Road Price of 1,58,690 + 1k for registration. So, "S1d" what do you suggest in this situation? Also, as your a Duke owner what are the extra accessories that you suggest me buy along with the Duke.

Read the above post that I had posted earlier.
THERE ARE NO ACCESSORIES FOR THE DUKE. The crash guard, rear view mirrors, number plates, front mud flap are all standard and included in the price. Footpegs?wtf, they are standard too!
I strongly suggest you get a quote from Banjara KTM.. These so called 'factory' buggers seem to be telling you stories.
And yeh 1k for registration via their agent is acceptable if you do not want to deal with the rto yourself.
And if you are paying upfront, then at Banjara hills, you would either get a tank full of fuel or a Rs1000 cash discount. I did get it and have seen a few more folks receive the same discount/fuel.

that's top secret stuff man, a few fellow duke owners have confirmed that my ride is quieter n smooter. Not to mention a decent 5% bump in FE.

Is the VIN Number Format Same for KTM Duke 390/200? Should I check for the 10th character to be "F" to confirm if it is a 2015 model...

Yes it is the same. The 10th character will be F in case of a 2015 model.

I got my Duke 200 on 20th march 15 from KTM Mysore showroom, In the second week after covering about 800 kms and returning from Bangalore to Mysore, I hit a pothole at about 50-55 kmph. Front Rim cracked, Back Rim bend. Both tyres flat out in 10 15 seconds.Happened on 29th March sunday,Monday took it to the service.

Service guy says takes two days for him to process warranty formalties. On the third day gets a call that it cannot be done under warranty.Calls up the dealership manager ,he says he want 3 4 days to talk to KTM engineer for the warranty but hints there may not be a warranty. Now waiting for his call. Meanwhile i have asked the service to do a detail checkup for the forks or chassis if they have taken impact.

Unhappy with the KTM Aftersales support.Guys just let me know your thoughts on this whole scenario.
I am thinking to write to the higher KTM and Bajaj guys and make a Fuss about this.Who and all do i write to ??

                  Thanks in advance

There is no warranty on cracked rims, and if you did manage to crack your rims, the fault is yours alone, this has been discussed extensively in this forum already.

My suggestion claim your insurance and finish it off as soon as possible

If the rear rim is not cracked, it can be trued by any machine shop, the front should cost you about 4k... Further, Check and maintain the correct tire pressure, over inflated and under inflated tires can lead to a lot of problems

If its just front rim,I will not got for insurance.I am concerned about the fork.
Anyways hitting a pothole at 55kmph and breaking rims is not acceptable after putting 1.5 lacs of your hard earned money. In our country you cannot expect a bike not to hit pothole in its lifetime. Just my thoughts

                            Hello Ramos

I think I should have introduced myself properly, I was one of the first owners of the Duke 200 and after owning it for 3 years with over 80k kms and 2 cracked rims, trust me to hen I say this, when rims crack, it is usually the rider at fault.

I am not going to say the bike is without fault but over the past 3 years they have ironed out a lot of issues, the engine is more refined, the plastics are better and the fueling is almost spot on. You are right to feel it is unacceptable but all I have to say is be more careful.
