• Re: KTM 200 Duke

If you can open up and remove the fuel pump, see if wires are frayed/lost contact. My fuel pump had lost contact due to water in fuel tank, and a simple soldering job will do the trick if thats the case.

ynike99 I will surly see if that's the case but i think if there would be some wiring problem the fuel pump would not work completely...presently my bike is running but if u raise the rpm u will fuel as if the fuel is getting over and the bike is also missing at very low rpm's btw did your bike started and run when u'r pump got screwed???

Instead of attacking teh fuel pump, I'd say you first try these things in steps yourself with a test ride after every step:
1. Empty tank, get fuel from a different petrol bunk
2. Clean the air filter, and also try with a new spark plug. (or better if you can get one from another bike to just check)
3. Replace fuel filter which is located under the tank
4. If you can get hold of 'System G' or "Adon P" additives from IOC bunk (use 15ml for a tankful first time) or try a dose of fuel injector cleaner (stp..available on snapdeal/amazon) and do a 25km non stop ride at speeds of 80-90's
5. Clean the throttle body using some petrol and elbow grease or use a throttle body or carb cleaner spray
6. Finally head to the svc to do a test of the fuel pump as mentioned in the manual..good luck with this cos i doubt if all svc's have this tool. I've heard that in bangalore the Autoservice folks are pretty helpful..give them a shot.

Hello, I have a problem with my duke, some times while riding I'm like at 50 km/h for example and in the cockpit for some seconds it shows 0 km/h and it returns to 50, then another time 0 and returns and so on

What can be ?
I don't have a service center near me

Does it happen only at 50kmph ?

based on what other folks have experienced, it could be a faulty stator coil.. read my other post at http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1136758
Get a multimeter and check the following at the stator coil connector:
between pin1 and pin2 resistance value should be <1ohm
pin1 and pin3 also <1ohm
pin1 to battery negative/ground should be infinite.

You can also check the battery voltage, with the bike on idle i think the reading should be more than 13.4V

I own pulsar 150 4.5 UG for 2 years.... and am having severe back pain while commuting on Chennai roads. The bike was not comfortable enough to ride on Chennai's bumpy roads. I had to decide which is most comfortable bike 150-200cc. After visiting KTM showroom, I enquired about KTM 200cc duke which is the lightest to ride on city roads.. I sat on KTM bike, it was comfortable to sit. I have doubt for this bike before buying it. Does it provide comfortable ride for me being 5.8" tall for daily commuting. What will be the mileage and how about KTM's service? I am new to KTM brand.

Is it just engine or the console is also switched off? If not I think its a faulty fuel pump or the fuel filter is clogged.

Mate due to stiffer suspensions I think that the Duke 200 will also be a tad uncomfortable to you. Also it's seat is not comfy as that of the Pulsars. But yes it is a fun bike for city commutes. I always make some or the other reasons to ride my brother's Duke 200. :-P
For comfort have a look at the Pulsar 200NS

Hey people i was just wondering if we can fit RC200's fairing to our duke200. I really liked the rc 200's design and i'm planning to make it just like rc200. I'll not change handlebars and footpegs position.
Can any one give me any info on this it would be very helpfull.

But how are you planning to cope up with engine heat. Since the fairings will affect the engine cooling.
