Hey guys, was wondering about ordering one of these Gravity Chain Oiling System for KTM Duke RC 200 390 oiler looks like a simple, cheap worthy solution for keeping my chain lubed up always...as its the case with ktms u can always feel when a chain is dry...sensitive bikey ...my only concern is this system uses zip ties..anyone has any prior experience with it? would like to know how much it will hold up in case of mild offroadin...and is it possible to control the rate of dispersion ?...very little info on the description

Coils will have their dates written on the connector, so I guess you don't need to see if they actually change it. Also you can look at the connector and the cable.
Well, like i mentioned in my earlier post.. electricals are a pain to diagnose. But you gotta start troubleshooting with the information that is available and then proceed accordingly.
The rr output in your case was clearly low, which could be either be due to faulty stator coil or rr unit itself. My next recommendation if you notice was having the rr unit checked and the best way IMO is by swapping it with a known good unit.
Electrical troubleshooting i feel is always better performed by the process of elimination.

I have read about this on a Ninja thread and he has executed quite well. Just check this thread: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/general-...a-300-san.html . If you want more details, I hope abhimanyu31 (the OP) could help you further.

Not sure if this is the 'Scottoiler' system (pl google it) or a similar contraption.
But it looks like there is one lubrication pipe that does the duty. I am confused as to how this is going to keep the chain properly lubed considering the position is placed at (i.e. on the outer side of the sprocket)
My understanding is that the 'O' ring chains have 'O' rings on either side of the chain link plates(look up some pics of 'o' ring chain) and both sides must be kept lubed. By the placement of these 'automatic' oiling systems, i dont understand how the other side gets its share of lube ?
I maybe missing something here.. if someone can throw some light on this !
And what about the mess it might cause on the rims / brake rotors ?!
IMO, i'd say you better put that investment plus a little more in to a paddock stand and use good old gear oil to lube the chain.

Here is my experience with the chain on my duke:
Current ODO : 10200 km in 7 months.
No. of times chain was adjusted: 1 time... YES only once!.. and will be adjusted at the upcoming second service.
Lube used: 2 small 150ml cans of Rolon chain lube (only on tours, sometimes at home.. i just spray it on by pushing the bike, half a can still left). Otherwise most of the times the lubing is done at the ktm svc which is close to my house. And they use used engine oil along with a grunge brush to both clean/lube at one go and for free ! That's kept the chain happy all these days and looks like the chain will last another 10k km easily.
Considering the cost of a chain sprocket kit, i personally find it not worth to spend a fortune on chain cleaning/lubing products that come in a can.

The chain just needs to be a tad wet with oil and not dripping, or you will end up with dirty rims and oil on the disc rotors. That's y i say if you are averse to using used engine oil, then use fresh gear oil (which is recommended by ktm) to keep the chain lubed and do it every 500-700km.

                            Hi Sabin,

Sorry for the late reply. I have not faced any issues after installing these LEDs ( now riding a D390 with same LED ).

Strongly recommend it, you can get it at any bike accessory shop (JC Road etc). I got mine from a shop at Sanjaynagar main road. I can get you one if you really want me to.

Regarding the parking light, LED one. Could please share the LED details?. Did you faced any issue with your ride after the change. I would also like to do the same as well with my ride.

                            Thanks in advance.

Hi Can any one help me out with the Re-Fueling and how to derive/judge the (Actual ) fuel level from the console Fuel Bar .

What i do is whenever i get the Low Fuel Indicator set up i re fuel 500 buck petrol approx ( 6.7 lts ) now my question is how much maximum fuel (in ltrs ) i can actually fill in when the Low Level Indicator sets in this will be very beneficial for me for long rides .

Also can any one share some tips for Re-Fueling the D200 while on a long ride ( 800 kms + ) on saddle as it will help plan the 'Fuel Stop' frequency

Around 7.5 ltrs. I use to do the same by refueling when it touches reserve. I use to fuel it up for Rs. 500 and do 200km after which I'll have to go back to the fuel station again. So, you can have the mark at around 195km for every Rs. 500 of fuel
