Re: KTM 200 Duke
I think it has to do more with the way one rides and maintains their bike, I have seen KTMs that look like they have just been through a war zone and when you check the odd it usually will be way below 5k, on the other hand you have this bunch(including yours truly) who were happily getting a mileage of 40+kmpl while still averaging very decent speeds.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postsir hame bhi de do thodi baba ji ki booti....
One thing I noticed is that after the install of the K&N my FE got a good 10% bump, went from 35-37kmpl to 40-42kmpl, usually 360 odd kms per tank while filling in a shade under 9 liters

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Dear,
In 200ns Bajaj has provided an optional for the second stand. Since they have a welded bracket in frame so that you can assemble them. But in ktm 200 it's not there. MAY BE YOU Can fix them by welding but that's not recommended.
It will also reduce your bikes ground clearance buddy.
So it's up to you :banghead:

Re: KTM 200 Duke
You can consider buying a paddock stand if you are a DIY kind of a guy. But if you stick to chain lube and cleaning only then the paddock stand might not be worth it.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
but would installing K&N void warranty ? im pretty satisfied with the mileage but looking for a gruntier exhaust note after installing K&N
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
pro riders can you advise us newbies on fork care and precautions ? would be very helpful for newbies like me . the bike is all over the place while taking on corners
all i found was this
http://www.wp-group.com/en/products/suspension/wp-configurator/
if i take the results to the KTM service will they be able to adjust the forks according to the result given by the website ?

Re: KTM 200 Duke
I have hit potholes and bumped over speed-brakers at 70ish speeds a few times. Touchwood no cracked or bent rims. Mine is a Oct 2014 model.Originally posted by ramos View PostIf its just front rim,I will not got for insurance.I am concerned about the fork.
Anyways hitting a pothole at 55kmph and breaking rims is not acceptable after putting 1.5 lacs of your hard earned money. In our country you cannot expect a bike not to hit pothole in its lifetime. Just my thoughts
Tire pressure,I think plays a important role. I just giggle when i see the tvs xl super in front pump up 36psi while the attendant is shocked when i tell him to fill up only 27/32 on my duke.

Yes, definitely the way one rides/maintains the ride has significant difference on the duke.. especially the initial 5000km. Neither baby it nor rip it at the redline constantly.
I get around 38kmpl in the city now, and around 35ish on the highway when i maintain consistent speeds of 85-90kmph and my odo reads a little over 9500km in 5.5months.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
They do say the K&N will void the warranty but I did install one on mine a few months after i picked up the bike, they didn't really make a fuss about it but I think here having a good relationship with the service techs and service managers helps.Originally posted by plexus View Postbut would installing K&N void warranty ? im pretty satisfied with the mileage but looking for a gruntier exhaust note after installing K&N [emoji3]

Edit: The sound of the intake is very audible after the install of the K&N, I didn't notice any difference in the exhaust note but the bassy note of the intake works well with the pitchy 200s exhaust note
As for your bike moving around in corners, is your rear kicking out, if that's the case then you may need to step up the dampening, if your front is moving about, I think the issue would be more with your coneset and less with the front dampening. Personally I love an extremely hard setup, but this can become a pain on roads with even the slightest deformation, I reworked the front dampening with the set of custom springs and an upgrade in suspension fluid from AMSOil . This worked brilliantly while corner carving and on the track but was a back breaker on broken roads. The stock suspension is pretty well sorted by itself, I wouldn't mess with the front until and unless you plan to track your bike.Last edited by Pizzaboi; 04-05-2015, 10:17 AM.

That's a good number Sid, the 2nd lot of the 2014 bikes have some kickass mileage figures, Nikki bought his around the same time and we were initially surprised at how loud the exhaust note was, the issue of the backfire persists though, he doesn't want me to tinker with his engine till his warranty is done, so few more months and I get to operate his baby

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Pizzaboi , yes the front part moves about , i think i need to replace the coneset and i have a bent rim. does bent rim affect much ? can i give the front wheel to be straightened ? or will i need replacement. currently i dont have 4k to replace the rims so how reliable will be straightening be ?

Repairing front rims will make it more unpredictable, weak and increased risks of much more damage on even very small impact.
So it is better not to repair the alloys and claim insurance. You might have to cough up the initial amount, but insurance will refund you the amount, not sure how much % of the cost is covered in insurance, but you surly will get it back.
Cheers
