  • Re: KTM 200 Duke

Thanks S1d, I will take it to hometown svc center let me see what they say about replacing the parts.

They were talking about the rear disc i think, and today while riding suddenly i lost rear brakes, the lever was going soo low when applied with no rear braking. After a while of riding it again became fine. Any idea as to what would be the issue behind this ?

check brake fluid level, leaks and refill and bleed the brake lines.
inspect the pads to see if enough material is left.

You can get those mirrors in ramkote.
If have seen them in many shops like citizen, deccan nawabs, Delhi auto.
My friend brought them for best price around 1200/- bucks, I don't now which shop he brought from.
        It was direct fit .
        No need of drilling holes.
We just need to remove some material of grip at the end with help of knife or blade for the mirrors to fit in .

[QUOTE=s1d;1198266]Interesting.. could very well be the fuel pump not developing enough pressure.
the other parts that could be causing this issue are the throttle position sensor and ics (idle speed control) stepper motor -these are located on the throttle body.
i assume the svc used their diagnostic tool to read out the codes and also did a fuel pump pressure test ?

They did diagnose the issue with the fuel pump. They called me asked if I had taken the bike to a local mechanic to get the fuel pump serviced, I said no because I had not. I dont know why they asked that. They did not give me a satisfactory answer to my questions. I am not sure what the issue was and they did not share if they had checked the bike with the diagnostic tool. They just did the third free service and returned the bike. The bike is fixed for now and is running smoothly, for now.

The only comment they made was that there was some water in the tank which could have caused the issue. which I find hard to believe as I the bike was not pressure washed and no rains in Mumbai recently.

If this issue returns then I will ask them to use the tool to check the codes.
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

This has been discussed in the previous threads, I read it sometime back ago and installing K & N is not good for the engine in the long run.

Check your front wheel speedo sensor, are you having any other problems than speedo acting weirdly?

                        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

It's the stator coil, just as I suspected. Usually these show up as zero and low battery warning, when starting after say two days. The first signs are speedo going zero while on the move. If you're under warranty get it replaced. But make sure they check the front speed sensor too, it might be just as simple as a speedo sensor as opposed to the coil itself. Keep us posted.

                            Cheers!
