Throttle transition is so jerky I mean if I whack open the throttle bike goes powerless for a second ( jerky ) and then all the horses gets unleased . The whole RPM band is uneven . Bike feels so so tight now I mean engine breaking is like actual breaking and throttle is not at all smooth so uneven . What could be the reason ? Something related to valves ? Bike is 16 K ODO .

When I let go off throttle to change gear bike feels like it's under super heavy breaking . Sound is not focused like it used to be it's very shrill and distorted loud and mechanical. I hope you got what I am trying to say . Service is due next month but I want to know what could be the reason or if anyone has face similar issue .

Thanks
Classic symptom. Get your throttle body cleaned/checked, 16k KMS is good enough for the throttle body to get gunked up. Clean your throttle body, if you still have the issue, get an ECU reflash. But cleaning the throttle body solves the issue 9 out of 10 times.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

Was just about to reply regarding throttle bodies.
My bike is more than 27K old and I haven't had the throttle bodies cleaned yet, still my bike feels just as peppy as it was on her birthday!!

Hi guys

Can anyone with 2015 model Duke 200 confirm me as to how refined the bike is.I heard its pretty awesome and extremly refined compared to previous models.
I have a Pulsar AS200 and i am getting a very good deal on it(Around 88K with 10100 Kms on the ODO and 6 months old).So after taking a Test drive of Duke 200 i was blown away by its sheer acceleration and agility.Thinking of making a switch. Will it be wise to do it? @s1d can you please shed some light on it as i would love to hear from you....

It would definitely be a good buy if you don't mind paying the premium (i personally think its a bit overpriced @1.6l approx these days). A lot of useful bits and pieces have been added to the duke over the past year. If maintained as per service schedule, I see no reason why this bike wont last as good as any other.
Refinement i would say is good, to an extent its that exhaust note that makes one feel its not refined. The exhaust note does change after around 5000km and becomes quieter compared to a new bike.

Okay will do that. However when in stock does it come with 7100 preinstalled or from factory it comes with Mineral oil?
Also what do i need to check while taking the delivery because i have heard couple of people did had issues while not doing proper PDI or was not found in PDI and they had issues later...

it comes with a pale golden colored oil. it's bajaj's dtsi oil that's manufactured by HP (so are their fork oil and brake fluids too -i've seen these bottles at the svc with bajaj branding and on reading the label you will know the actual manufacturer). should be fine for the first 1000km.
the 7100 is used from the 1st service on wards. stick to the 7100 and you will be fine. I've been running the 7100 from day 1, drained and filled with 7100 just after delivery. no issues so far @16500 km in 14 months, with 60% of it on highways.
for a pdi check list, take a look at Ajay Vishwanath 's signature and just make sure the bike you are getting is manufactured within the past 30-45 days by decoding the vin number (search this thread for details regarding this)

Also there is one more thing i want to know which means a lot to me(Since i would be riding with a pillon very often)

I had a friends duke 390 and since i was pillon there was mud all over my back.is it the same for Duke 200(i.e. even with the slightest rain)Hedid had hugger and mud guard but still it sprayed all over my back.

ecause if there is the slightest of water spraying to my pillion then its an absolute deal breaker for me.Currently i own AS200 and there,it doesnt matter how much ever it rains there wont be even a single spray of water/mud on my back.
s1d can you please let me know about it.
