I am hoping to find answers here.
I bought my Duke 200 few months back. I have ridden a mere 2k on it. The problem is that the front tyre(which is a stock MRF Revz) has slipped quite many times when on slightly muddy wet roads during rains. While the back tyre remains perfectly gripped. I was thinking, if i should replace my tyre with a Michelin or Any other suggestions ??
Yes i think the tyres are faulty.Check coneset.Nothing is wrong by the way you brakes but may be the tryes may be of very hard compound(Manufacturing default) or may be the coneset is faulty which when applied brakes acts strange.
Take it to SVC at the earliest and do let us know if you resolve it

No worries brother. Also they might push you saying its common and you are pressing the brake too much etc ect(You know their BS) just ignore it and dont agree to it until you genuinely feel its fixed.

So I was out riding and after about 15 mins of riding, my engine just shut off when I was about to shift to the 4th gear. Rear tyre locked up and somehow I coasted to the side of the road.
Any idea what happened and why? It needs to be towed to the service center now [emoji29]

Why is it some times I cannot start the bike on gear? Today while in the traffic my bike got switched off on 2nd gear and it didn't start until I put it to neutral. Still it is not starting on gear.

IIRC your bike is from the first lot and is bound to have the problem, mine had similar issue. The problem is with the clutch switch, there is a new version of clutch switch(it has a proper enclosure), but to have the new one fitted the clutch yoke has to be changed as well. Got mine replaced recently.
Temporary fix is to spray good amount of WD40 on the clutch switch contact point but the issue will return back in a while.

Thanks samschenker ; Yes, it is from the first lot and it had happened before also and didn't appear for a long time till today morning. Will try my hand with WD40 today. Will ask the SVC in the next service about changing it.

does the bike start now ?
do you see a side stand warning even though the stand is retracted ?
are you able to at least push the bike in neutral without starting it ?
since you say that you coasted to side, i assume the bike moved after it shut off. In that case it's not the brakes.
could also be some issue with fueling or damage related to the chain or gear box or the worst case an engine seizure.
no point shooting darts in the dark in such cases.. a proper diagnosis is needed on at least the few items mentioned above.
take it to the svc and watch what they do if possible.

The bike wouldn't start. All the lights and everything were working. Though the indicators were acting weird. And yes the bike was rolling forward in neutral, so brakes weren't the problem. I basically had to pull the clutch in and move to the side of the road when it happened, since the rear tyre had locked up completely. I'm guessing the problem is with the engine here. I sent it to the service center. I'll let you know what happened. Thanks

Hi friends
Did anyone installed hand guards on ktm duke 200.
I am planning to install on but the mechanic was saying to buy a Ktm duke 390 handle, bar end weights, hand guards and grips.
The whole costs 3300/-
Or I need to buy one from power parts which costs 8000/- bucks which is way to high
