Re: KTM 200 Duke
Sometimes rain does play havoc on the motorcycle, especially indicators signal working flashing on its own or some aspect of the dash being lit up, yes it's due to the rain entering the delicate internals. I'd suggest remove one of the terminal of the battery in your case since the dash is lit, give is a good dash of compressed air around the electrical components and then see how it fares. It, most of the does solve the issue.Originally posted by omprakash View Postguys the speedometer is starting up without the keys. maybe because of water?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Don't try to fix or meddle with something that ain't broken.Originally posted by yoginder View PostHi everyone... Can anyone tell after first service of duke 200 what parame&ters to check ..... Now its around 2800 km run...
Just keep the chain lubed every 500-700km and follow the regular service at specified intervals. Holds good for any bike not just the duke.

Might be a problem at the ignition key..squirt some wd40 into the key hole or remove headlight and spray near the contacts / connector below the ignition barrellOriginally posted by omprakash View Postguys the speedometer is starting up without the keys. maybe because of water?
Looks like the rain is playing havoc in TN. A friends duke shut down after riding in heavy rain and eater logged roads and turned out to be a blown fuse. We were planning to ride to jaipur but had to abandon the trip.
I would suggest you disconnect battery and leave it for a few days. Then when the rain subsides, take it to the svc and have it checked. If some expensiveEpart like the console or wiring needs to be replaced, you can claim it under warranty.Last edited by s1d; 11-23-2015, 12:09 PM.

thank you bro hope this is the case. because i had installed fog lamps. during the installation something might have went wrong. because the wire goes into the headlight unit.Originally posted by s1d View PostDon't try to fix or meddle with something that ain't broken.

How much is the life of chain sprocket on d200 ?Please check the wear/adjustment limits before replacing. My d200 has done similar mileage in one year now and the chain sprocket looks good for at least another 10k, and ive had it adjusted only twice till date ! A properly lubed chain on normal riding conditions should easily last you atleast 20k km. I've also observed that some mechanics simply tighten the chain when its really not required.Originally posted by yoginder View PostI dont think its sprocket... If they are still pointed dey are good
Why dont you post some pics of the sprocket.
yoginder if the sprocket teeth are pointy then its time to replacement. A new sprocket will have blunt 'peaks' that after wear n tear appear pointy.
Do google a bit to understand about sprocket wear.

By chain sprocket, i meant the whole set of chain and sprocket since for chain replacement you have to buy the whole as a set.Originally posted by s1d View PostPlease check the wear/adjustment limits before replacing. The problem is there is some sound coming from near the chain area.Took it to svc, they said chain had become loose and tightened it there. Sound dissappeared then, started again on next day.
Few more days , again went to svc same thing happened. Now the sound is still there.
Sound is not continous, it comes only sometimes.
Svc guy said , 15k kms is the life of chain.
