No, you cant lower the brake lever (its possible only with the gear lever). You can only adjust the free play on the rear brake lever.
Look closely you'll see the piston nut to the far left and the free play adjustment at the right, so this should give you an idea as to how to adjust the position. Make sure you don't pinch it too much while fiddling with it. As I reiterated earlier, since this nut isn't readily visible, it should give you some clue.

Re: Alternate Mudguard for Duke 200
hmm.. are you sure that it's safe to make an adjustment there ? doesn't it put more strain/pressure on the master cylinder?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostHope this helps you both out.

Re: Alternate Mudguard for Duke 200
Nope S1d. You can see there is a nut over a threaded stud, so no pressure points, we aren't tinkering with the piston or the push rod, this wouldn't cause any problem to the MS it's just adjustable nut.Originally posted by s1d View Posthmm.. are you sure that it's safe to make an adjustment there ? doesn't it put more strain/pressure on the master cylinder?

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hi friends,
My Duke 200 is serving me well at aroundd 2.5k Kms. although I'm not using it much due to my overtly boring friends who don't have time for long rides.
Well that's another matter, however, recently since a couple of days I noticed that the throttle response in slow speeds and lower gears is not very smooth. I feel there is a bit of a jerk in the bike when gaining speed from very low speeds or when cruising at low speeds below 40kmph.
I'm wondering if this is due to the following:
1. Loose chain
2. Increase in throttle play
3. Snatchy fuelling.
Can the experts please help me with suggesting the best course of action and probable cause?
Thanks.Cheers,
Saleem

Re: KTM 200 Duke
1).I probably think that the jerkiness or vibey nature of the bike is due to a dry chain. When was the last time you lubed and cleaned your chain. Try opening your front sprocket and cleaning it with an old toothbrush and diesel/kerosene/petrol. Then lube it with any of the lubes available in the market. Avoid grease, it will not get into the rings of the chain and due to its stickier nature, will attract more dust. I use motul chain lube, its available at any of the KTM svc"s. Cost about 550 a bottle. Usable for 6 spraysOriginally posted by saleem_k View PostHi friends,

2).Get your throttle cable adjusted for play. This is the first time I have heard somebody complaining about more play on the throttle. I personally find it less.
P.S- Mine is a 2015 duke 390. But I doubt there is any increase in throttle play.
3).This issue could be due to bad fuel, a bad fuel pump or a dirty throttle body( ask them to clean the butterfly valve). Worst case scenario the bunk you are filling from is jamming the nozzle too deep into your tank that has caused the fuel pump to go kaputt. I had read about this on one of the RC threads. For the fuel pump to function properly, it has to be submerged in petrol due to which it is placed at the very bottom of the tank. But in our bikes it is placed a little higher. I dont know the particular reason behind this. Maybe it has been done to avoid engine heat or something( this is a very very wild guess). Sometimes the bike when being ridden at a very low fuel level shuts off under hard braking. The fuel due to hard braking moves forward and the fuel pump is not submerged in fuel. To save the fuel pump from going kaputt, the ECU shuts the bike off.
THESE ARE ALL JUST GUESSES, I have not personally ridden your bike and therefore I do not know if you are just new to the vibes. Dont hammer me if I am wrongLast edited by rohangk; 11-08-2015, 09:12 PM.What do you call a biker who does not wear a helmet? An organ donor.

Did you check automobile shops in GP road?. Also checkin Pudupet. Some shops already stocked R15 (when I visited for my projector fitting). Other idea is to get the respective svc and order one.Originally posted by omprakash View Postguys can someone tell where i can get visors for 200. like the cbr ones. in chennai

Tire Slip issue with KTM Duke 200
Hi Have a really big problem .
I am hoping to find answers here.
I bought my Duke 200 few months back. I have ridden a mere 2k on it. The problem is that the front tyre(which is a stock MRF Revz) has slipped quite many times when on slightly muddy wet roads during rains. While the back tyre remains perfectly gripped. I was thinking, if i should replace my tyre with a Michelin or Any other suggestions ??

Tyre replacement at 2k!!! Even the metz on my d390 last 12k kms. Check your tyre pressure. Check your coneset, fork alignment, etc.Originally posted by Atul Ramachandran View PostHi Have a really big problem .

Re: KTM 200 Duke
The front mrf is one of the best front tires out there IMO. Pl ensure you are not running more than 29psi on the front tires.Originally posted by Atul Ramachandran View PostHi Have a really big problem .

In muddy wet roads any front tire will give away when you brake hard (unless you have abs) And maybe its just that you need to get used to using the front brake properly.
FYI, i use only the front brake 80% of the time in dry conditions and a 60:40 ratio in the wet. And i personally feel that a bit of manually pulsing/pumping (firm but gently) gives better stopping power without fishtailing/wheel lock ups/skidding.
A few days ago I changed the rear on my D200 to michelin (mrf had done 14k km and suffered a 4th huge puncture that was irreparable) and I am loving the michelin. In fact my front tire had more wear compared to the rear mrf @14k km. If everything goes as planned, I am doing a trip from Hyd > Puskhar (rajasthan) this week.. a 3000km round trip after which the front tire will be changed to the same mrf.
I have seen a D200 that came with the new fan design (shroud around the fan) which had a fan failure and it was replaced by the old model fan. The owner is also a member of this forum but i don't remember his id. He tried asking the service guys why it was done but did not get a proper answer and i don't think he pushed it further.Originally posted by Pritesh Patel View PostHey guys i have changed my radiator fan for the tgird time under warranty.i wanted to know that can i get the fan of the new dukes in my 2014 model...just asked the svc guy that why arent the installing the new one and they said it cant be done.i am fed up of this chabging the fan in every three months.if i contact the company the just calk and confirm is my probken solved or not but what will happen once the warranty is over.this is a permanent problem.
If your bike came with the older model fan, then it is normally unlikely they will use the new part. But since you say you are having repeated failures, it's time you wrote to bajaj customer service explaining the situation. You folks should understand that simply posting such complaints/frustration online might not always get such issues sorted out.. the onus is on you to take it up directly with the company.
And finally, i think the open fan design is better (provided the fan/motor quality is good!!). I for one am trying to get a SPAL aftermarket fan from the US via a friend. This mod has been discussed on another international duke 390 forum and they say its much quieter and more reliable.

Thanks s1d.I have written to bajaj but the only thing they do is call me and just ensure that i have replaced my fan.lets see how much does this fan work. And can you send the link of the thread for that international duke 390.Originally posted by s1d View Post
