How many kms on odo?
Could be a dirty throttle body..
Ensure you fill fuel from the same bunk.. Don't change brands..

Could be an issue with the injector..
When you crank the engine, do you get the smell of petrol from the exhaust?
Signs of incomplete combustion?
There might also be misfires..
Fuel injector issues may also give the issues you mentioned.
Get a fuel injector cleaner may be that would help..

The bikes is about 9 months old and has done 6400 kms. Took it to the service center and they have diagnosed that the fuel pump is faulty. There was no smell of petrol from the exhaust. No signs of incomplete combustion. There were misfires though. Lets see what happens.

Interesting topic. Do keep us updated on the progress, especially the price, and how the bike performed after the fuel pump change.

Hey guys, my Duke seems to have developed a real aversion to idling and slow speeds!!! It only wants to go fast!! Here is what I faced 2 days ago while coming back from a short ride.

1. The bike does not want to idle for more than a minute, tops.
2. The engine turns off as soon as the clutch is disengaged while changing from 2nd to 1st or if you changed down or up but do net let the clutch out.
3. When you crank the engine it would not start easily unless you leave the throttle alone and keep cranking for 10 seconds in each attempt. Then it will die as soon as you open the throttle. You have to open the throttle very gently to ensure that the engine does'nt turn off. This happened at least 4 times in the short 15 kms ride.
4. Riding on slow speeds had become difficult because the engine kept shutting down. It would shut down as soon as the clutch is disengaged. Low rpm riding had become a huge problem.

I some how babied it home and have not used it for 2 days. Will take her to the service centre tomorrow. I am unable to figure out. And a Low Battery warning also came up a few days ago but it went away and did not reappear. Any ideas guys whats wrong with her? Dirty throttle body? Fuel issues?

guys my speedometer is not working because of water during rain can it be repaired or we have to replace it. i took it svc centre. without checking they are telling you have to replace it. I am not sure whether it can repaired or not.

s1d thank you bro. but the bike is 3 years old. i have insured with third party insurance. so it doesn't cover that

Hey guys, I own a Duke 200 ( just 2 months old and completed my first free service). I purchased it in Pune (Maharashtra).
This is my first bike and I'm madly in love with it.

Just one week after the 1st service I decided to take my Duke on a long drive to Nashik.

It was approximately 220kms journey from Pune to my destination in Nashik.
The night before the journey I checked my bike and everything was normal as usual.

Also this was my first long drive and the first time that I crossed 90+ kmph on the Duke. ( I couldn't cross 5000rpm till the 1st service)
(I really enjoyed the experience of riding a bike on the highway).

After reaching Nashik, I again checked the bike and i noticed this leakage from the engine for the first time.

Is it normal??
What is the solution and how much will it cost??

Thats bad.that should be the basic for any bike for not to splash mud on the back.That was a deal breaker for me.

i wonder if the rc metal tank restrainer can be installed to our dukes

if anyone has done it please suggest if it direct fit or need some mods

It's not that easy when it comes to bikes with mono shock .and on top of that to keep the duke looking mean adding a mudgaurd would be like covering mona lisa with a bhurkha. Not worth it.imagining a mudgaurd like a UG 4 pulsar gives all of us bone chills.

On a more serious note

The problem is not the centrifugal force of the tyre splashing .it's actually the tyre walls ( the point where the tyre ends and the tyre wall starts) hence the famous spray on riders elbows and back . Rather than big chunks of splash. It's like friend *****ing behind your back .you won't even know it until its too late.hehe..

You won't even know it .you only notice it when you reach home or the tea shop fellow asks what the hell is that.

Trust me I observed this when i sat facing back on my friends 200 on mysore ring road . For HALF and HOUR.

the rc has a metal tank itself (the inner tank is metal outer cover is plastic)
the dukes have a plastic tank and plastic outer cover.
no, you can install the metal stopper to the duke's plastic tank.
just stop them from shoving the nozzle all the way in and hold it yourself so that it just enough pokes in to avoid splashes.
