The short answer is Yes you can use Speed 97. The question is - Is it available?Originally posted by tecteam View PostThank you.I will go there and check for some rim tapes.Happy Duking
I also have another quick question. Can I use Speed 97 for the Duke ?
I know of only 1 petrol bunk in Bangalore which stocks Speed 97 (I've only heard of it - not been there though)

As per the manual it is 1.5L at low fuel warning. I don't think the 3L figure is realistic. you cant have 1/3rd of the tank full all the time.Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostHow much amount of petrol is left in the tank when the low fuel warning blinks? The SVC guy told to maintain atleast 3 lts in the tank. So I am confused whether to fill it when the warning sign blinks or well before that?

when I took the delivery of the bike the service centre guy mentioned that he had filled the tank with five litres of petrol but as soon I came out of the showroom and hardly rode the bike for 1 km, it started showing low fuel warning. Is that a console error or did the guy lied?
Is it ok to fill up when the low fuel warning blinks? Are You guys filling the tank based up on the warning or based up on the bars on the console?Originally posted by spiralbrain View PostAs per the manual it is 1.5L at low fuel warning. Ask yourself, are you really that handsome?Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostThe guy himself mentioned that generally they give ony 3 lts of petrol with the bike but in my case he said they have filled 5 lts.
I mean, why would he do that?!
You should have gone to him the minute you saw the reserve light flashing. Did you?Last edited by ABikerAtHeart; 03-30-2012, 08:49 PM.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

Why would someone give you extra fuel? Fuel doesn't come cheap or free to even those folks! Everything is accounted for except for those cheap keychains. They can't be filling at will. if they do that, a few bikes in the lot will not have fuel :P

I didn't wanted to get caught in the bumper to bumper traffic, I just wanted to reach home before the traffic builds so as to avoid overheating of the engine. It was evening time and I hope You know about the traffic conditions in chennai during peak hrs.Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostYou should have gone to him the minute you saw the reserve light flashing. I just went by his words, even if they give the bike with empty tank I am ok, infact I would appreciate the transparent behaviour.Originally posted by Shubz View PostLoL!!!! good one!

I agree with you. They should be transparent. How was your fuel indicator? If he said there is 5 lts of fuel, it should've been showing more than half on the indicator.Originally posted by Ri$hi View Post

Hello fellow dukers!
After a very short ride today I noticed coolant spill on the fairing, dripping down on the sides of the radiator, I tried tracing back to where it has actually come from, I see a coolant overspill pipe right next to the coolant filler cap! The coolant seems to have come out from the overspill which is suspended right on top.
First service on Tuesday will have to ask the service guys. One more thing that I have noticed a noise from the front when ridden on slightly rough roads, not able to pinpoint where exactly it is coming from can be something loose inside the Headlamp assembly! Anybody from the forum who have noticed something similar?? Close to 850km on the ODO, waiting to unravel the beast soon.

Was in Bangalore..so thought I'll check out Cramster and Orion Motors for DSG stuff...Orion was closed on Sunday and on UgadiOriginally posted by Ri$hi View Post....You have cramster outlet in Virugambakkam itself, why going to bangalore?
.. Probably will check out DSG gloves either Primal or Revive and probably a jacket the next time I am out there...
Odo reads about 101 kms today. Hoping that the heating up issue will get over by atleast 200kms.. That's the only thing that's making me think about a drive to the Bangalore Highway ...Originally posted by Ri$hi View Post....Sure, will have a blast some time
Cramster guy in Bangalore said that they are expecting stocks by April 15th... I guess you can try around that time at Velavan Motors as well...Originally posted by devesh38 View PostEven i am in need of good jacket and gloves. I have been visiting/calling this cramster store(aka Sri Velavan Motors aka Royal Enfield showroom on arcot road) since 3 weeks now. They do not have the required gloves/jacket size in stock. They keep on insisting to try out RJays jacket and gloves. I dont want to invest 6k+2k in jacket+gloves without experiencing the other brands.
As per the bunk attendant in Elite Petrol Service, Cathedral Road there are only 4 bunks which Stock Speed 97 in Chennai city... Not sure if that's accurate, better check before you start filling it ... I think Speed 97 costs about Rs. 83+ ...Originally posted by tecteam View PostThank you.I will go there and check for some rim tapes.Happy Duking....

3-4 lts is what I understood is necessary for the FI engine... the sign blinks at 3 Lts I suppose.. I think there are 9 bars in total on the fuel gauge... better to fill it when it reaches the 4th bar or so... why risk itOriginally posted by Ri$hi View PostHow much amount of petrol is left in the tank when the low fuel warning blinks? It won't be nice if we are seen pushing our Dukes
Baskar the guy who gave the demo to us, said that they fill 5 Lts however only 3 will remain.. I guess that they test drove or just let the engine run at the service center to check things... I had close to 3 lts or so.. I filled the tank after driving about 6 kms.. 7.21 lts was all they could squeeze into the tank...Originally posted by Ri$hi View Postwhen I took the delivery of the bike the service centre guy mentioned that he had filled the tank with five litres of petrol but as soon I came out of the showroom and hardly rode the bike for 1 km, it started showing low fuel warning.
