        • A light weight alu ramp would be costly. Maybe you can get hold of a fabricator and design one yourself. All it requires is 4 "L" shaped angles for the frame and maybe a lighter guage plate in the middle. You get floor plates which have a pattern for grip.
I have done one and use thick plywood for the middle covered with antislip mat.
Of course aluminium would be light weight .

              • Probike wait id / delivery?

Folks, I just called Pro-biking in Bangalore to check my booking status. I'm told if I make full payment I can expect the vehicle in 2 weeks.

During partial payment I was told I would be called as soon as the vehicle is available and I can take the bike after full payment. Now suddenly this further 14 days delivery period?

                Does anyone know whats happening?

Like Chennai, is the wait id not honoured in Blr too? Are people not taking the bike after booking? Why aren't the pb guys not sending any email note on this - instead of we calling and finding the same?

I don't think Bangalore PBK is following the booking status any more. Delivery is being done based on who makes full payment first. When I inquired last week while taking delivery, I was told that only 65-70 bikes have been delivered, yet I got my bike when my booking Id was 100 odd.
Your best bet is make full payment. I got my bike in 10 days after making the full payment.

This is nothing but some overenthusiastic powder coating! Mine has the same too.

In all probability you will not get this replaced under warranty.

I'm getting my duke delivered in a week or two. I'm planning to get a disc lock for it from XENA , getting it from US since one of my relative is coming back next week.

Just wanted to know the size of the disc holes on the Duke from fellow Duke owners so as to make sure the lock fits in the whole (to avoid any surprises like the lock being bigger than the disc hole ).

Has anyone got these disc locks on any other bikes before ? If so please share your experience and i have heard Xena is the best in the business, any inputs on selecting the type and the model would be highly appreciated.

                      Cheers ,

I also planned to buy Xena. But instead brought 2 local locks because -
                      1. The XENA locks needs a battery replacement every 8 months (In case you take alarm locks)
                      2. Cost difference was huge.

But believe me there is nothing better than XENA. Nobody would dare touch your bike & they will the scared by that 110 db sound.
XENA is the best among disc lock alarms. The hole diameter is a shade above 6 mm (I measured this with a Vernier) So even if someone has the 14 mm or 15 mm disc lock alarm, you shouldn't be worried as you will not have to match the locking pin with the holes on the disc.

The light will be on till you start the engine (and builds up oil pressure).

Try ebay but shipping costs are exhorbitant! Best thing is to get it through someone coming back from the US.

I am thankful to my friend (sharingan on xbhp) for helping me with this one!

Thank you for that piece of advice Janesh! I was going to get around to doing it but couldn't find a good fabricator near my house, just a carpenter...will let you know once I finally get it made.

                          • Yes josh's bike was stolen and never recovered.its better to take security. infact bike thieves on a prowl in london as well.. damn them

Specially in bandra there was a group which use to rob bikes, dismantle them in few hours and sold it off as parts .. so its true

                            • Then XENA is a must buy for you! You know the best about the security around your area. So take the best possible measure.
Even i m trying to get XENA from US/ UK.
Anyone who can help us with getting XENA from US? May be something like a group deal?

                              • hello fellow riders,

its my 6th day as a Duke owner. I have been taking the bike out for short rides everyday and the odo has crossed 150. Overall the bike is doing excellent. Wanted to report a couple of minor issues though:

Everytime i ride, when the engine gets hot, little drops of coolant splatter on the tank from the coolant cap (see pic) I dont know if its an issue but i definitely don't want toxic coolant over my fuel tank paintjob. Once a drop even reached near the fuel tank cap.

There is some rubber bush like padding protecting the upper part of swingarm from the chain near the gear shift lever. I have a feeling that the chain is rubbing against it.. wouldn't it cause unnecessary friction and early wear of the chain?? (No noises as such from that area)

Lastly, there is a slight squeaking sound from the front disc area during cold start. It disappears after a few metres of light riding and braking. It happens mostly during cold start when the disc is cool.
