The red light with key illuminated usually lights up when there is a fault with the IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM if installed, something similar to cars. Have you installed the immobilizer system on your motorcycle? If yes, check the wiring of the immobilizer unit. Secondly, if the answer is no, I'd suggest you remove the seat and look for a connector near the fuse box with a connector cap on it that is jumped with a wire; check if that connector is secure and the jumper wire is intact.

If you're washed your motorcycle or if the bike has been seeing some action in rain, it's advisable to let the bike dry thoroughly, especially the switchgear and the relays which earths due to water ingestion. Usually, these issues resolve themselves once the bike is given some sunshine to dry or shoot of compressed air.

    Keep your observations posted.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Did not get any replies regarding the query seems like no one has got Ceat rad. Anyways switched to Pirelli rosso II as the ceat was not available and didn't want to get michelin again.

nice. the michelin i've noticed 'squares' out excessively along the center due to wear and i feel it isn't as rounded a profile as the mrf/pirelli. I am on the michelin since 18k + km and it has enough tread depth left for another 5k km at least.
i personally feel a 150 is one size too big and will probably be switching over to a 140, with my preferred choices being Timsun, Ralco (with the tread pattern that's 'dirt/street' friendly) or the mrf masseter.

Yes, you're right michelins squares out in the center due to wear and it looks more wider than 150.
The rosso II 150 looks like 140size after the michelins, but overall michelin is a great tyre and it is very durable.

Recently my coolant tank was stolen by some miscreant and the SVC has no stock of coolant tank caps. So can anyone suggest me an alternative tank cap (I've checked Aliexpress, don't want to pay ₹300/- for a shiny orange one)

Also, if there's any way to prevent theft of the tank cap, let me know. 😅

Try to get the ones from the pulsar 200ns or rs from bajaj svc or local shop.. Might fit. These hardly cost 20rs.. I always keep a spare of the brake fluid reservoir and coolant tank cap, lucky to have not had to use them so far.
Or maybe close it with aluminium foil n rubber band as a temp fix..

The SVC guy told me this can be beacuse of less oil sprinkled on the stator due to old cover design. With this new one it will ensure the oil is sprayed on the coil and will help burning out.

Though there is no assurity on what he is saying is right. I still decided to go for a new cover as 800₹ is still worth trying it out. I also got my entire wiring checked and even RR. They insisted on not to change the RR as it was fine as per their diagnosis and voltage check.
                      hey bro!
how is the stator coil issue after changing/ replacing with new cover?
i am inn dire need of a solutionn too.
my duke is 2013 model and has faced stator coil issue. will it really help if i change it with the new cover design??
                      kindly acknowledge.

My stator coil issue is resolved after this last change. Might have done close to 30k run after changing the outer cover and stator together. Off late i was seeing zero on Speedo but I'm suspecting the Speedo unit since it is faulty and often goes blank, primarily due to water getting in. At this same time my stator and battery are showing proper power using KTM diag tool. So safe to say stator issue is resolved.

do you by any chance have pictures of the old n new covers ?

and am not sure if any of you have noticed (i had posted pics earlier), the clutch cover/position of the clutch release lever is different from 2017 onwards

i found that this has reduced the effort one needs to put in at the clutch and feels 'smoother'. am going to check if this can be fitted on my bike.
if anyone has done or enquired about this, please let me know.

Unfortunately! There is no way one can prevent it from stealing. You can try the Duke 390s, RS 200 which are a direct fit, from 2013 to 2018, all caps are the same.

The little protrusion that you see on the newer ones can be due to a reworked stator design. We can get more idea, once the inside of the stator cover is exposed. Case in point, the Duke 390's have always had this protrusion, so here is the internal of it, so you can get an idea.

Thank you for the suggestions. To my luck, I managed to get the coolant tank cap in a few days from the svc. What a relief! During this season water can easily get into the coolant tank.

If it doesn't, get your gear shift lever assembly and the spring checked. This is the gear rod that goes inside the engine that your foot shifter is bolted to. This would require removing the clutch side of the engine. A faulty shaft/spring mechanism can in fact cause sticky shifts, get it replaced. Keep your observations posted.
