Re: KTM 200 Duke
it's normal. Just top it off close to max and keep an eye. The initial drop is because they aren't usually filled completely and during usage some gets sucked into the radiator . After the initial drop and after you top it off , the level will more or less remain constant .Originally posted by andy1386 View Post

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Some Questions on the feature list on the 2016 Duke 200.
1. Does it have a traditional Fuel Tap (Main/Reserve/Off)?
2. Does it have a kick start?
3. What other locks (apart from Iginition/Handlebar) are provide as standard fitment? - Seat/Storage/helmet
4. I believe there is no choke?
5. Does it have a side stand warning or a fail safe?
Would appreciate if some 2016 owners would give me a quick answer.
I am doing a little research on how features are changing between traditional and contemporary offerings.

1. No - its fuel injected.
2. No
3. Rear seat lock.
4. Yes no choke
5. Yes it has side stand warning sensor, bike would not start when side stand is down.
These are standard in all fuel injected bikes.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Anybody knows whats wrong with my 15 months KTM Duke 200(10960KMs ODO)?i had changed the factory installed coolant into "Putoline Ice Cooler" last June of 2016 because the level of the original factory installed coolant is slightly below the min level, since Putoline was the only coolant available for me to buy that time. i had noticed that the level of the coolant from max(last June) had decreased, and now november(below min), I had topped up the coolant just yesterday and just hit the mark just above the min level maybe 10ml, is there anything i need to worry now? and also at around 10000 Kms odo mark i had a "Low Oil Pressure" warning in my console although i had a good oil level, and its just random i think, and noticed no difference in my engine performance or sound, but i am worrying about this warning. any advice please.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
non standard coolant can evaporate under high temperature. But u r also getting low oil pressure notification, check for coolant getting mixed with engine oil . if everything else is fine , then no need to worry. Change the coolant to recommended one afterwards.Originally posted by Kimboy View PostAnybody knows whats wrong with my 15 months KTM Duke 200(10960KMs ODO)?i had changed the factory installed coolant into "Putoline Ice Cooler" last June of 2016 because the level of the original factory installed coolant is slightly below the min level, since Putoline was the only coolant available for me to buy that time. i had noticed that the level of the coolant from max(last June) had decreased, and now november(below min), I had topped up the coolant just yesterday and just hit the mark just above the min level maybe 10ml, is there anything i need to worry now? and also at around 10000 Kms odo mark i had a "Low Oil Pressure" warning in my console although i had a good oil level, and its just random i think, and noticed no difference in my engine performance or sound, but i am worrying about this warning. any advice please.

Thanks vvk1999, Do you hear about Putolines? because I could honestly hardly seen anyone mentioned that brand name here in xbhp, and by the way i also use their 15w-50 synthetic engine oil in my duke 200 now.Originally posted by vvk1999 View Postnon standard coolant can evaporate under high temperature. Re: KTM 200 Duke
for the low oil pressure warning, one cause of a false alarm is a bad oil pressure sensor. worse case can be blocked oil filter/oil lines that is causing this (even though you have enough oil, it isn't flowing properly). Get these checked by your dealer. They should have the oil pressure testing tool (essentially its a special oil filter cap with a hose connected to a pressure gauge)Originally posted by Kimboy View PostAnybody knows whats wrong with my 15 months KTM Duke 200(10960KMs ODO)?i had changed the factory installed coolant into "Putoline Ice Cooler" last June of 2016 because the level of the original factory installed coolant is slightly below the min level, since Putoline was the only coolant available for me to buy that time. i had noticed that the level of the coolant from max(last June) had decreased, and now november(below min), I had topped up the coolant just yesterday and just hit the mark just above the min level maybe 10ml, is there anything i need to worry now? and also at around 10000 Kms odo mark i had a "Low Oil Pressure" warning in my console although i had a good oil level, and its just random i think, and noticed no difference in my engine performance or sound, but i am worrying about this warning. any advice please.
a minor drop in coolant is ok, top it up with distilled water (rather than mixing different brands of coolants), and keep an eye on it. If the level drops in the next couple of days/weeks then you will need to investigate further.
Now, if you want a peace of mind, just drain both the engine oil and coolant and inspect if it appears normal. If the oil is grayish or the coolant has oil in it, then it will need repairs such as a gasket replacement. If they appear normal, just fill em back up with fresh oil and coolant (just run one or two cycles of water thru the radiator to flush it out). After a coolant drain & refill, there will a drop in the initial couple of days (due to the coolant being sucked in from the plastic tank to the radiator/engine cooling jacket).. just top it off and keep an eye.

The brands commonly available in India are Castrol, Motul (ktm uses motul), valvoline, Shell etc.. we do not have putoline easily available here.Originally posted by Kimboy View PostThanks vvk1999, Do you hear about Putolines? because I could honestly hardly seen anyone mentioned that brand name here in xbhp, and by the way i also use their 15w-50 synthetic engine oil in my duke 200 now.
Using Putoline shouldn't be a problem as long as the grade is correct.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
As per bike brochure, first service is at 45 days and second at 150 days. Difference between both service is 105 days.
So the second service should be calculated as 150days from invoice date or 105 days from first service date? First service was done after 18days only, odo was 800kms.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Thanks master s1d, i had made a little experiment just this morning regarding my "Low Oil Pressure" warning problem on the way to work, i noticed that the warning would probably appear when i am running my engine mostly 5-7k rpm at 50-70kmph, but when i run lower than that, it wont appear. now when i switch off the bike and turn it on again the warning light wont appear and when i rev the engine on 5-7krpm on stationary it wont appear.i am still using the bike despite having the intermittent warning light because it is only my mode of transport and i have booked a service checkup tomorrow at my dealer, this problem really caused me to overthink, hope the service guys can rectify this, knowing that the brand is apparently new here in the philippines.Originally posted by s1d View Postfor the low oil pressure warning, one cause of a false alarm is a bad oil pressure sensor. worse case can be blocked oil filter/oil lines that is causing this (even though you have enough oil, it isn't flowing properly). Re: KTM 200 Duke
Please read the manual carefully. It will be mentioned.. something like "150 days since last service or since bike purchased". In case of doubt clarify with your dealer.Originally posted by philip.gunner View PostAs per bike brochure, first service is at 45 days and second at 150 days. I own a D200 purchased on mid Oct 2014 (manufactured Sept 2014) and it follows the 5000km/120 day interval
The models from Dec 2014 onward, have the 7500km/120 day (whichever earlier) with the exception of the first service. Owners might want to refer to their manual for the service interval if the second or third free service has a shorter interval.
Get the oil pressure checked with their tool. The oil pressure is supposed to vary at idle and at higher rpm's, and maybe for some reason the pressure is not at what it's supposed to be at the higher rpm's. So get it checked the right way at the dealer.Originally posted by Kimboy View PostThanks master s1d, i had made a little experiment just this morning regarding my "Low Oil Pressure" warning problem on the way to work, i noticed that the warning would probably appear when i am running my engine mostly 5-7k rpm at 50-70kmph, but when i run lower than that, it wont appear. now when i switch off the bike and turn it on again the warning light wont appear and when i rev the engine on 5-7krpm on stationary it wont appear.i am still using the bike despite having the intermittent warning light because it is only my mode of transport and i have booked a service checkup tomorrow at my dealer, this problem really caused me to overthink, hope the service guys can rectify this, knowing that the brand is apparently new here in the philippines.
If you want to know the exact values and procedure, you can get yourself a copy of the service manual (easily available on the internet for download)
