The dealer of mine where I bought bike from is worst of course they would have sold it to another customer.
I don't live anymore near that dealer I live 50Km away. Do they sell the part over the counter.
    Any idea of price ?

I think they do sell it as a spare. Considering i got those plastic front fork protectors for 45 bucks a piece.. the mudflap would also probably cost just as much.
Call and check with the dealer especially if its far from where you live. you can get it fixed at your next service.

I am getting my duke serviced nearby my place so mayb I might check with them. Travelling 100Km up and down and arguing with the dealer is too much than that I can just buy new ones.
Anyhow I want to change sprocket chain set and brake pads.
What is that plastic front fork protector bro ?

I think since 2015 the dukes came with extra plastic bits near the front fork.
Look at the bottom of the forks, on either side you will see a small plastic 'guard' (its bolted to the fork).
See image on left, the plastic bit shielding a part of the fork tubes.

                1. The radiator on the duke is one of the 'strongest' and well protected. The front mud flap on the mudguard doesn't allow any muck or stones to be thrown at the radiator and the radiator fins don't get bent easily even with a powerful jet of water during water wash. I've ridden the bike in the wet in slush and mud and the radiator always remained clean (just the odd bug that gets stuck and roasted)
No need for any fancy radiator guards.

                2. You can use regular petrol. That's what almost everybody uses and it's just fine. Don't even bother paying extra for fuels like 'speed' or 'xtra premium' (unless they are specifically rated at higher octane). Instead you can use an additive like adon p or system g (both of which a few friends and myself use and happy with it)

                3. There is no oil consumption (negligible if any)
Thanks a lot bro! Today i rode a friend's three year old Duke, which has done around 28k kms. My observations during the ten kilometre ride:

                1. The riding posture is very comfortable (me coming from an R15 V2.0).

                2. The seat could have been a little narrower, i feel, as my thighs felt a little uncomfortable.

                3. The wind blast at around 100 kmph was quite high. The fairing, windscreen, and posture on the R15 really helps here. Well, i can't complain as this is pretty obvious with every naked bike.

                4. I just loved the gearing on the Duke. At speeds even below 25 kmph, it pulled cleanly in the 3rd gear.

My friend said that there is no oil consumption, although the Motul 7100 evaporates a bit, since it is a double ester compound. Thereby, he needs to top it up every 1000 kms. I really have no idea regarding what he was speaking. Any idea anyone?

That plastic thingy is there to prevent splashes from the front wheel depositing on the fork tubes, which in turn causes the fork seals to go bust. Actually it's a pretty nice thing to have that protector. Usually inside of the fork is not cleaned by most water washing fellas. The inside of the fork is where all the accumulation occurs and the fork's seals start rubbing with the deposited crud, grime or fine particles and fork start leaking. To prevent this, they've added this.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Narrower seat!!?? Trust me, it wouldn't be nice on your butt. You will get used to the seat after a month or two.
Wind blast, yes your right.. the d200 is best enjoyed for its acceleration (up-to 100), peppy nature and when it comes to touring, it's happy to do 85~95 all day long, with enough grunt to over take at these speeds. Wind blast will again depend on the route/weather/wind. There have been times when 100 was a breeze and other days when 90 was a PITA due to cross winds.

Your friend is wrong and saying that a double ester will evaporate needing top up every 1000km doesn't make any sense (unless you are one of the folks who believe every random comment/review from so called 'experts' on the internet). The 7100 is a very good oil.
From personal experience (of mine and from friends who own a 200), there is no need to top up engine oil. The loss if any is very marginal, and that is how a healthy engine should perform. And this is from experience of having ridden it constantly at 85-95 kmph for 700km a day (on consecutive days at times) a few times and regular city riding. And some folks i know ride even faster 100-110kmph consistently on the highways.
In fact i've had to remove a bit of excess oil a couple of times just after service, since the svc tends to blindly add 1.4L oil (i prefer to add a bit less 1.2L, check and top up in small increments).
The only possible case (on a healthy engine) where consumption might be a little higher (maybe 100ml every 2500km) is if you are constantly redlining and riding at very high rpm's (i.e above 8500rpm) -- most folks don't do this type of riding always.

I am just trying to evaluate whatever input i am getting from everybody, as i intend to keep this bike for at least five years.

Thanks a lot for your inputs, gave me peace. Waiting for the orange colour to become available.

Hi guys I noticed a oil leak frm a rubber portion covering a sensor in the engine
I'm scared that my engine case is broken
do show some light on this problem
How much would it cost to fix
                          Thanks in advance

Guys how can I reset the service due indicator on duke? KTM technician red eyes the trip meter instead of the service interval.

I couldn't find it in the manual.

                              Ignition ON
                              Engine OFF
Press 'Mode' to change it to ODO (if its in trip)
Press 'SET' intermittently until you see 'the spanner symbol with the km reading next to it '
Now press and hold 'SET' for around 10 seconds.
That should reset the service interval.
Turn off and on the ignition.

What are the technical things that an owner must know?

What's up with maintenance and modifications?
