Dont worry.. they will accept. U just make sure that they fill the bottle in front of you.Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Post

+1..Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostPeople looking for pillion comfort shouldn't be going for Duke. IMHO the pillion seat ain't that bad enough, it should easily accommodate a well built individual. But if pillion comfort really matters then go for CBR250R.
I am 81 kg 5'9'' and I have sat on the pillion couple of times.. Did not find it that uncomfortable... It is small for tours. But it is absolutely fine for short city rides. The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

agreed... Actually the pillion comfort is okay, its not that bad but its very scary... Reason being seat too high, a bit small and i dont know why i always feel like falling behind even while standing in traffic and i have to hug my friend tightly as if i am his gf so that i dont fall while accelerating... Its scary...more so for people who are not used to riding pillionOriginally posted by Rohan200ns View Postpillion will feel comfortable if the rider manages to ride it slowly ..This Tail Is Japani Tail (spell as you like)

Bro..the comfort is below ok. It cannot be ok and scary at the same time. Thus, on the scale of 1-10, pillion seat of Duke deserves a 3. It is perhaps the worst pillion seat so far seen on any Indian bike.Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postagreed... Actually the pillion comfort is okay, its not that bad but its very scary... Try having a pillion ride on R15 V2.0. U will evaluate in Negative then..Originally posted by extremerocker00 View PostBro..the comfort is below ok. It cannot be ok and scary at the same time. Chuck rating it in negative, he should be alive first for evaluation.

Talking about R 15 would be OT bro. Yet, I'd say there may be a neck to neck competition between r15 2.0 and duke 200 on - the pillion seat of which of these two is more pathetic.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostTry having a pillion ride on R15 V2.0. U will evaluate in Negative then..
. Assassin bro wont agree to this. He might rate it 10/10 for obvious reasons. That, however, still wont change facts.

Why the coolant leaks ?
I noticed most people on xbhp are not on the Duke FB group so thought I will share with you guys hear.Thats how the coolant system looks like when the bike is striped down.A few pointers I had earlier shared
-The coolant level must be between MIN and MAX mark.If the coolant level is at or above the MAX level, the coolant will overflow from the radiator house usually after the engine becomes warm.
-In case the coolant is dripping/leaking or spills, wash off with water immediately, do not simply wipe off with a cloth.
-Never remove the radiator cap, radiator hoses or other cooling system components when the engine is hot.

Agreed. I tried it only once and didn't find it uncomfortable or bad at all, in fact I was positively surprised by it. It looks as it is too small but when you're on it it's quite good. The problem with pillion seat isn't the seat itself but grab rails - they are placed more on the sides than to the back, and therefore don't offer a way to balance against acceleration. That's what gives an uncomfortable feeling for a pillion that it's easy to fall over to the back. But if you hold onto the rider then there's no problem AT ALL. Sure, the back seat could be bigger and wider at very end for more comfort but there are other, more "tame" bikes for that...Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostPeople looking for pillion comfort shouldn't be going for Duke. The thing is that you noticed better performance just after first service, so it means the problem lies in something that was changed on first service. They usually don't do much on first service except changing the oil, so I doubt they were cleaning the FI.Originally posted by Sh4n3W View PostI did change the oil filter while changing the oil. I thought the metal stuff was really small metal stuff and they were supposed to grind around inside.. I guess ill go for another oil change. Ill switch to FS only after 6000 +. Ill be using dtsi oil for now.. will the valve clearances be set? as it is some kinda pre-second servicing servicing..
. And what about the spark plug? Should i clean it? and does it have a considerable effect on performance? I've been using the same petrol which is pretty decent but i think the injectors need to be cleaned. Can they be cleaned or only replaced? will the guys at the svc do it? should i go to the svc with low fuel or something?
Thank you so much on the info.. was really looking for this..
I usually change oil (of course oil filter as well every time I change the oil) 2 times before first service, at 150 and 500km. Changing the oil isn't servicing, it's good to do it more during the run in to clear all the metal particles that accumulate inside the engine and in oil filter during the first 1000 (or even 2000km if you were gentle with your bike the first 1000km).
If I were you I'd do one thing at a time and check if that solves the performance hit.
So if you changed the oil only once you might want to change the oil and oil filter first and check the bike performance after it. If no change then clean the air filter. And if it's still the same after that then maybe take it to SC and ask what else they did during the first service and then let them do it...Last edited by splus; 08-07-2012, 01:46 PM.

The seat is ok. But yeah, it can be scary for people who sit pillion for the first time or are not used to it. I got a taste of it last weekend when I sat pillion on my bike with the mech riding it. I tried to him to check out the throttle lag issue which I had reported few pages back here. Man!! It's like hanging on for your dear life till the ride ends. The problem is exacerbated if the pillion is wearing a helmet(which it should always do btw). The rider and pillion helmets keep on clashing whenever the the brakes are pumped.
I had this constant feeling of falling down. The pillion footpegs too sometimes got folded unwittingly by me and I ended up sitting with a leg dangling. Phew!! Only thing I can say is Kudos to my 'pillion' !!Oodles of courage she has

Yeah, this is exactly how I felt when holding onto the rails, really scary. But when I held onto the rider it felt much much better, it wasn't a problem any more at all, felt like on any other bike.
