how many km done on the spark plug ? is it the iridium plug ?Originally posted by vikundefined View PostYes, I am thinking of visiting svc on weekend and see what they say after checking the following parts.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Could be stator coil or battery issue. My experience was that the battery was not picking up the charge properly.Originally posted by Akshayramdas View PostConsole is showing battery low warning for sometime during runtime..but i dont have any starting problem or all the electric components are working properly...can anybody expalain why??

A loose battery terminal lug(s) can in fact cause all sort of pester, right from stalling issues, to low battery warnings and console warnings going off. Start off by checking your battery terminals first. Secondly, a failing battery or a failing stator will read zero value at the speedo even though the bike is doing good speed. This warning has been a precursor to almost all the Dukes out there, where eventually they burn out their stator coil and end up getting stranded as the battery fails to get charged.Originally posted by Akshayramdas View PostConsole is showing battery low warning for sometime during runtime..but i dont have any starting problem or all the electric components are working properly...can anybody expalain why??
Get your battery voltage checked through a multimeter at a SVC to make sure your stator and battery are in good shape, that should give you a start.
Keep your observations posted.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
it should normally be able to last much longer.. even the oem plug is easily good for 15k km.Originally posted by vikundefined View PostI think I have done around 17-18k kms on the NGK iridium spark plugs. Is it time to change?
i am yet to plonk in the ngk ir plug, been lying around with me for quiet some time.. due for a service in the next month or so and it will be a diy general service replacing all the filters, plug to ngk ir and the coolant. just need to get my hands on the filter kit. haven't been riding it as much as i would like to the past six months, except a few weekend rides.
touchwood no major issues or breakdowns so far, only this so far https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me...ml#post1375238
i hope it was the contacts and not the console itself that was faulty.. been two weeks now and the issue hasn't cropped up. anyone with a funny speedo reading, please do check the voltages to ensure the battery is fine and recharging and also clean up the contacts. i believe it is due to some bad connection that is causing the speedo show erratic readings.. and it is not the fault of the console itself (it merely gives out the readings from the signals it receives.. that's my guess), so avoid replacing the console unless absolutely necessary if you want to save a few bucks.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hey guys
A small problem here, need help!
I was away for a couple of weeks so my bike was sitting idle for 2 weeks, although my dad was idling the engine for a couple of minutes on a few days while I was gone.
Yesterday I rode my bike, but it took a quite a while to get it started. I let the bike idle for around 5 minutes to let the temperature up and then I went for a ride, but the bike stalled suddenly in the middle of the road, although I was able to get it started. But what could be the issue? Battery or just the fact that it was idle for so long?

Also I should add that all electronics are working perfectly.Originally posted by Omkar Santosh Naik View PostHey guys

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Stalling just for one time does not mean there is an issue. If everything is working as it's supposed to, then don't worry about the ride and keep riding. Report back if your stalling issue is persistent.Originally posted by Omkar Santosh Naik View PostAlso I should add that all electronics are working perfectly.Honda Dio [2010 - 2011]

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hi guys! Need advice!
Facing a problem with my 200. Yesterday on the way home my bike died on the highway. It was showing a Low Battery warning since day before but I could not get it checked. And without much ado the bike died on me leaving me stranded at the side of the highway. Thankfully it was'nt raining yesterday evening. Got it restarted some how via a good push from a good samaritan.
For some reason the clock also reset itself day before. The battery was replaced about 10 months ago and the bike is used everyday. I will get the battery recharged since it is unable to crank the engine. What could be the issue? The stator coil? Rectifier?
Forgot to mention, the bike is a 2015 model and has done 18000 kms.Last edited by Yusha; 07-10-2019, 07:27 PM.And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. Re: KTM 200 Duke
on a weak battery, yes you will notice the clock reset itself . been there seen that happen. in my case it was just the battery (lasted 4 yrs)Originally posted by Yusha View PostFor some reason the clock also reset itself day before. if the battery is only 10 months old, it is most likely a stator coil failure (which is known to happen on the dukes).. rectifier failing is rare. first get the battery charged and then get the voltages checked and you will find the culprit. at 5000rpm you should see around 14.3 V at the battery terminals.
the stator coil can also be checked like so:
Pin 1 - Pin 2 : <= 1 ohm at 20C
Pin 1 - Pin 3 : <=1 ohm at 20C
Pin 1 to battery -ve : infinity
these are from the service manual of a 2014/2015 model.. and i believe should more or less the same.
The svc should be knowing how to test it.. and ktm has provided them with more detailed steps/values to look for in such cases. I've seen the troubleshooting/checks chart pasted on the walls of the svc.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Yes, a weak battery can in fact be the cause of your problems. Let's start off by checking the battery terminal lugs, sometimes poor torqued batt lugs would mean, the vehicle will turn off and flicker and what not, so that's one. Secondly, your battery isn't charging, which can be due to faulty stator which isn't able to charge the battery. A simple voltage test at the SVC would let us know what's at fault here. Start off by inspecting the battery terminal for proper tightness, then check for the battery voltage, then check the voltage at the batt terminals with the engine running 5k RPM. It shouldn't more than 15.5 volts max. If the voltage shoots too high or too low, you have a bust stator.Originally posted by Yusha View PostHi guys! Need advice!
