  • Re: Honda CBR 150 R

Completed almost 400Km today. The bike will be taken for RTO inspection, passing and road tax this week hopefully. Still following running in procedure. I am idling for a minute before riding and for a minute after completing the ride.

I am yet to buy a helmet. Currently using an open face helmet that we had bought to be used with Activa as it can be put in storage compartment. Posting a photo clicked by my RE rider buddy this Sunday.

CBR 150R spares are too costly

Krishna b4u- What happened exactly? As far as I know, clutch kit of CBR150 is relatively costlier as compared to CBR250 as the kit is imported. Otherwise, the spares cost is somewhat in range with other well built motorcycles (ofcourse excluding our home brand's Bajaj).

Buddy, I think the price of the rest of the spares (apart from clucth) are in line with the price of similar items for other bikes. For reference you can compare the price of headlamp assembly of R15 vs CBR150. The price of clutch assembly does seem a bit higher than what other cbr150 owners have reported so hope the quoted price is not wrong.

Bro , I am Having multiple issues .
I first brought her on 10 sept15 , After a week I noticed that my left Indicator at the rear side was defective as didn't have any reflector in back of the bulb and informed the showroom and they changed it and as well as I got a broken tool which they replaced too. After two weeks , The oil started leaking from one bolt the bolt which has a copper washer , As it was time for first service and I completed 680 kms odo , I informed them but they didn't resolve and I had to go again after week and they resolved it . I have a large panel gaps at rear which I guess only in my bike . Again everybody said there are no vibrations but after I rev above 6 or 7 k the handle bar along with brake pedals vibrates so intensely that I couldn't apply brakes . I think I have got a major defect from production itself so that's asking someone to test drive it and help me resolve.

And the fan starts with iginition even without and bars it was not so earlier the fans kicked in only after three bars but now starts with ignition. I asked svc they said its normal but I guess they are misleading me ?

                          Yes you got defect product.
Do not take it easy with svc.
Ask them to give you a new bike instead of changing the parts.

There is a definitive lack of PDI by the dealership that sold you this bike. This is the reason, an owner is supposed to check the bike before delivery and lets leave it now as we have no control over that now since you have already bought it.

Issue 1: Indicator reflector- Simple replacement sorted out your issue.

Issue 2: Panel gaps. Thats quite zoomed in. Irregular panel gaps do occur but I think your bike has more panel gap. But your photos are too zoomed and I would ask you to have some peace from the fact that from normal distance, I assume no one might be able to spot these panel gaps. I hope service centre can fix this if its only specific to your bike.

Issue 3: Oil leak. I can see rust. Chennai atmosphere is very harsh on motorcycles as documented everywhere. Have you checked the month and year of manufacture of your CBR? I think that one reason for that rusty leak is that your bike was standing in the stockyard for the past 4-5 months. Again, this needs to be sorted out by the service centre.

Issue 4: Vibrations. Thats strange as CBR is known for being one of the most refined bike in its class. I suspect that the engine mounts may have issues in your bike, again could be because of prolonged standing in the dealership stockyard where chennai air, rain and sun affected the mounts. I could be wrong here and would leave this to expert members here.
