And the next time I went there, that's what I did. About an hour or two after I got back home, the ASC guys called me up and told me that the total cost of all 5 parts was 6,363/- which is really high for me.
Just the chain cover costs 1,818/- it seems!
So I ordered some Carbon Fibre wrap online and am going to do a DIY job on some of the plastics!
Good that you didn't order them, it's crap! That so called carbon fiber thing chips off and it's getting ugly on my 250r.

Well, my DIY job didn't turn out too good either. The morning sun was hot enough to shrink the carbon fibre I wrapped 3 parts in, and it's a total waste now.
Guess I should just leave these jobs to the pros, which is on the rather expensive side, or just stick to the stock looks, which are still damn good as they are.

I have 2 questions though, so somebody please help me out here :-

      1) I was looking to change the rear number plate lamp to an LED. Any specifications (power ratings etc.) I should watch for?

      2) I happened to accidentally break a few of the small white coloured plastic clips that hold the fairing panels firm to the bike while getting them off. Any idea if I can get them separately? Because having to change an entire panel just for 2 small plastic clips that are smaller than a pen cap, would be just ridiculous! (Obviously, I will ask the SVC this, but I'm just hoping to find some sense of security until I get there :P)

        1) LED for license plate? Why? What's wrong with the stock? It ll be too bright IMO.

        2) Are you talking about the rivets? But I believe the rivets are black. Please post a pic if possible.

          1) There's nothing wrong with the stock one, I just prefer a white colour there instead of the yellow. And I can add a piece of black tint film to reduce the brightness to a great extent, so that's not an issue.

          2) No not the black rivets. There are white clips on the fairing panels. Refer the attached picture.

Yeah Gotcha.. It is available, my mechanic bought some while fixing the cracked locks in my fairing and he sorted out by re molding.

                Hi Friends ,
Am new to the group, this is my first post in this baby CBR group, but am here to get lotta advice from friends like you.
Am an old school Classic CBZ Owner(still love driving it) , but its time has come and its got to be replaced soon. It was always a dream to own a sports bike and due to some or other issues had to delay it.
Today I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the new 2015/16 Baby CBR in Blue color. Am just Mesmerized by the sheer awesome color combination, no offence to anyone, i just love black better than white. Am based in Bangalore, thinking to pick this up tomorrow.
I took it for a test drive loved it, odo had 18km already on it, the SVC engineer told that they had to drive it from Godown to the showroom as this was a single piece which arrived yesterday.
Am attaching the pics. Please give me some tips of what all i need to look before i buy and before taking the delivery. I just loved the way it drove and looked. Sales guy told me the new Color has 1bhp extra than old baby CBRs , but i doubt that !
Any advice would be well appreciated. Like what all things i need to buy for taking care of the new Baby CBR, and Sales guy told me that they have 5 years engine warranty but only 1 year Road assistance service and 1 year Normal Full Warranty and Insurance.. (I read somewhere that they give 2 year full warranty ) Is that correct... ?
They are giving me 1) Teflon coating 2) seat cover 3) Number plate with the final on road price, but no Parking cover !! I negotiated but the sales guy said i have to buy that extra .. Anything else i need to be aware of ? Or anything else i should get or ask for free along with the final price of the bike ?

Looking soon to be a Baby CBR owner ..

which is best Painting or Stickering (entire body)???

If the Painting is best, then which type of paint is best (Satin, Matte or Glossy)?

If the Stickering is best, then what type sticker it should be?

All said and done, before taking the delivery do a pdi, which should include the following checks :

                    1. Engine oil level
                    2. Coolant level
                    3. Switches working smoothly
                    4. Chain should be lubed
                    5. Take a small ride and check for wobbling
                    6. Tyres

The warranty IMO is as below :

2 years or some xx amount of kms and then 3 years of extended warranty. Not sure about road side assistance.

Don't go for Teflon coating, its a pure waste of.money. Instead, get some polish compound and do the polishing part at home. Seat cover, I don't think it is needed as it will have dealer name printed on it which will look super ugly. Ask for a parking cover instead of a seat.

When I took the delivery of my bike, I did not ask for any fancy things such as bike cover, seat cover, number plates and teflon coating etc. Dealers are just eating money on this additions.

Instead get the bike and get other things yourself.

                    1. Parking cover 200-250 rs
                    2. Number plates - 350-400rs
                    3. Seat cover - bot needed
                    4. Teflon coating - I guess you are paying Money for 3 times Teflon coating a year. Best is get some polishing compounds for the price you are going to pay for teflon and do polishing part at home.

BEFORE YOU START RIDING YOUR BIKE, READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL PROPERLY. Also spare some time and read the ownership thread

                    Cheers,
                    Sanjay

First, if you are changing the color of your bike, you will have to make changes in the RC book/card as well which will cost you additional.money for the alterations needed in RC card.

Stickering is not a long term thing, stickers will loose their properties soon and cannot withstand rain, summer when compared to paint.

Maintaining a full black color is sometimes PITA as you cannot keep the dust off every time. Never heard about satin, glossy paint will get scratches and swirls as time passes by. Go for matte.

                    Cheers,
                    Sanjay

                      Thanks for the suggestion Sanjay

any idea how much will cost for the color updation in RC book, i know that it might vary in different states.

i used clean my Bike daily, so PITA is not at all a issue .

any pros and cons you know in Matte

Thanks Sanjay for the reply, thanks for the PDI checklist, i did go through the ownership thread last few days and it helped me a lot. Am a proud owner of the Blue black baby CBR, Did the PDI and everything was good and as per expectations. A big thank you to all the other contributors on this thread who made me aware that Saree guard is free with this bike, but the dealers had removed it during delivery. But as i knew it before, i asked them to put the Saree guard back and they obliged (It doesnt look bad if i put the black saree guard).
The seat cover they gave was Honda's own and not the dealers it has Honda logo on it, IMHO it looks great on the bike. Parking cover and tank guard i had to buy extra.
The bike drives great and i have been going through the owners manual last 2 days.
Bike drives great and looks great too. Am totally satisfied buying this honda, its perfect in handling and comfort.
Thanks for all the advice guys cheers.

Hey why dont you consider Vinyl option? some one posted a DIY too i think in this forum, here it is.

that will be faster and if you ever change your mind, you can change the vinyl again!.
