dude how are the new LEDz??....sufficiently bright in the eveningz ??

More than sufficient, better than pilot lamps. They have a slight bluish tint, not completely white. I like them.

I saw an orange Cbr150 just an hour hour ago with a black tank pad, looked good! Will research more and buy a good quality one, don't want them to spoil the paint when they come off.

i think any protector u put doesnt make a difference coz the paint will ultimately get affected...so once u put it you will have to have one.

But i saw thing cool thing, it was like a scratch guard extending from the mid to the base end of the tank but i guess a normal protector should be a much wise option.

I was thinking of something like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Th6QFa3BPsQ

But it will cost me around 4500 + shipping (total of around 7000).

I found a cheap LED in ebay india: Planning to buy it.

I got the bike in June and some North Indian owners of the bike got before that. We were all buying this bike blindly. We don't know whether it will be perfect, but still we didn't blatantly accuse it!

I have booked the bike on 10 March 2012, even without any test ride. That time there was no vehicles available in any of the showrooms in Haryana. ( Honda's plant is just 40 kms away from the showroom where I bought my babe). I got the bike on 30 April 2012, and mine was the second delivery, because the first vehicle reached to showroom was Green+Black combination.

                    • Re: Honda CBR 150 R

                      Hey Guys,

Yet another happy owner of CBR 150R. Have been following this thread for quite some time, which made my decision stronger towards CBR 150R. I would like to Thank you guys for all your contributions here and thank you xbhp for letting me in . I got the bike on 11-Oct and now my bike is 1 month/6xx kms old.. Compilation of my buying experience / Initial ownership is in progress, will post it soon.

After about 400 kms / third week, I started getting a sort of tak tak tak noise from the engine (only until the engine gets hot). The noise is not the one which comes from the silencer when it cools down. The noise is exactly as in this video. CBR 150 Fi Shim issue sound - YouTube.

Run-in procedure was followed as mentioned in the manual. No sudden acceleration/braking and no full throttle rides. Most of the time I was riding in 6K to 7K rpm and occasional gradual bursts of up to 8.5 k. When I reported about this noise to ASC guys - Surya Motors, Kaatupakkam, Chennai (decided to stick with them as I got the bike there), they told me the sound is normal (the engine was hot and the noise was minimal when they checked it) and they promised me the engine will be more smoother after the first service. They also asked me to remind them about the clutch adjustment during the first service which will make the gear shifting smooth. So I left my vehicle for the first service on the very next day (6-Nov / 27th day after delivery / 580 kms). I mentioned all the problems and made the service guy to write everything on the job card. Even met the washing guy and informed him not to damage the radiator .

During the delivery, I insisted them to show me the vehicle before paying for it. I checked the vehicle thoroughly for all the complaints in the job card are addressed. The vehicle was fine, no scratches, radiator damages and the missing screws reported were in place. During my ride back home I noticed that the feel of clutch was different and the gear shifting was way smoother than before (but not smooth enough). On the engine noise front, I couldn't hear it until I reach home. The same day evening, I took the bike to highway as I was curious to know how smooth the engine & gear is. A big GRINNNN on my face. It is only then I realized what the guys were raving about this beauty. It took me to 95KMPH at 6th gear in 7K rpm so easily. This made me to believe that it can actually do the figures claimed by many owners, in its peak power band. I was totally happy on the bike and the decision I made.

After that ride, the noise started again and now the noise is present always. I was out of town during the weekend and so took the bike again to ASC today. When I spoke with CBR mechanic, he agreed that he knew the noise was there during the service itself and as the camshaft (reason for the noise) was not in stock, his manager asked him to deliver the vehicle & asked him to call me later for replacement whenever they get the spare. I was not at all informed about any of this, during the delivery of my vehicle. This showed me a hint of Honda ownership experience discussed in many forums. As I want my bike back in a good shape, I didn't express my anger and remained very calm during the whole conversation.

When I asked if SHIM could be the reason for the noise, the mechanic said the reason is a faulty camshaft and not the SHIM. He pointed to another 150R in the garage and said even that bike is also having the same compliant. Also he said only 250r will be having the SHIM noise as the SHIM of 150r is covered by a rubber cup. I am not sure how far it is right. When I asked about the rectification of the problem & delivery of the vehicle, he said it will take atleast 2 days as he has only one camshaft in stock which he will use for the other bike. Not sure how far it is the fact and I don’t know how good I will get my bike back. Hoping the best .

By the way I named him "The Venator".

They give both brands of tires randomly to the 150r. They are both more or less the same so it doesn't really matter which one you get.
