hi i just bought mine 10 days back. I've got 500km on my odo and the service center guy told me that i can give the bike for the first service at 500~1000km, So would it be fine for the engine to do the service now and start increasing my rev limit after that or should i be more patient?

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
The manual say 15-30 days or 750-1000kms, whichever comes first, Maybe you can wait for 5 more days and then get it serviced, otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem if you do it now too. I got mine 18 days back and have done only 370kms, will get it serviced on 25th. Did you face any issues in performance or quality?Originally posted by bloodseeker View Posthi i just bought mine 10 days back. Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I got my cbr 51 days back from now and for first servicing i had to go twice to svc...because the first time.. the guys refused to do any servicing becuase my bike was having only 485 kms on my odo. as said in manual, the engine must run atleast more than 750 kms for servicing....i went on the 26th day and with 485 kms but still svc guys suggested my to run it more because clock time doesn't matter, what matters is run time of engine...purpose of first servicing is to remove all the impurities of metal chips and burn particles from engine oil which came due to new engine surface settling down to better finish.Originally posted by bloodseeker View Posthi i just bought mine 10 days back. so u don't need to be patient with your bike... time will do little effect...u need to run it as much as u can...and talk to your svc guys...maybe they can extend your time as they did for me...my servicing happened on the 38th day.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Errr, that's weird, people on this thread have got it done at 300 kms. Manual doesn't say engine needs to run at least 750kms, it says 15-30 days or 750-1000kms, whichever comes first.Originally posted by Tarun Rai View PostI got my cbr 51 days back from now and for first servicing i had to go twice to svc...because the first time.. the guys refused to do any servicing becuase my bike was having only 485 kms on my odo. as said in manual, the engine must run atleast more than 750 kms for servicing....i went on the 26th day and with 485 kms but still svc guys suggested my to run it more because clock time doesn't matter, what matters is run time of engine...purpose of first servicing is to remove all the impurities of metal chips and burn particles from engine oil which came due to new engine surface settling down to better finish.

Do you have in written that they won't void your warranty later on?

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
About Collinite 845, will wax my bike after the first servicing, I was researching more on it, and it turns out, it can be used on the matte parts! But there, it is basically wipe on and wipe off, no staying period. Will post my experience with it when it's done. Those who have used it on trims of their cars say it lasts as long as on paint, excited!

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
so i should go for the service since i've done some 550km on my odo?? the main reason why i wanna get the service done is coz i dont wanna rev my engine high with the kinda impure engine oil (and if the engine is not ready yet) and i'm literally at the peak of my patience to rev till just 5......the bike itself yells for more :POriginally posted by hypheni View Post485km on ODO is sufficient for 1st servicing as Manual says 30days or some Km whatever is faster. I have done my 1st servicing for 250R with 302KM on ODO and the service guy was happy to service the machine.

no performance issues yet ...the only problem i had was that when my bike gt delivered the pressure in the tyres were 33(F) and 43(R) i checked the pressure after ridding around 150~200 km n since then maybe there is an issue i dont know but it feels like the front tyre has way too much tractionOriginally posted by Akash Makkar View PostThe manual say 15-30 days or 750-1000kms, whichever comes first, Maybe you can wait for 5 more days and then get it serviced, otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem if you do it now too. dude why would i need to extend the time. Firstly i've done 500 in some 10 days, i can do 1000 within a month and Secondly if u exceed either the time or km duration by a fair margin u may loose on to the warranty i guess......isnt it guys??

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Dude, that air pressure is really high, but if you checked it after riding, then it might be fine as the the tyre is hot and we are supposed to check air pressures with cold tyres, but I am still not sure if it goes tht high. Manual says 33 for rear and 25 for front as far as I remember.Originally posted by bloodseeker View Postso i should go for the service since i've done some 550km on my odo?? the main reason why i wanna get the service done is coz i dont wanna rev my engine high with the kinda impure engine oil (and if the engine is not ready yet) and i'm literally at the peak of my patience to rev till just 5......the bike itself yells for more :P

Also, at what revs are you shifting gears? The manual puts no restrictions on the rev, all it says is to avoid full throttle starts and sudden bursts of acceleration for first 500 kms, you can go as high as you want, but slowly.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
For only rider it gives optimum performance with 25/31. And with pillion it needs 25/33.Originally posted by thejester View PostI did. But I wanted to know the values from other people based on their riding experiences.

Though these figures may vary with the turf. Like you will not get maximum grip with this pressure on a wet turf or on a dusty turf.
But for day to day use it's better to keep this pressure as you don't know when or where you gonna face what kind of situation.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I understand the warranty issue...hence u r right one should make sure to not violate that...in my case i was a bit lucky...paper work was already done(date written down in the form) before i came for servicing but when svc guys saw my odo, they suggested me to run it more and warranty is no issue....date on paper is 26th but service was done on 38th....lucky me..Originally posted by Akash Makkar View PostErrr, that's weird, people on this thread have got it done at 300 kms. also akash.....time constraint is only because of commercial reasons ..... the svc guys won't wait for u to complete the 1000 kms ...hence time constraint and...as even a lame guy can understand...bike's life is represented by its odo not purchase date....
if u can do near 1000kms(ofcourse from below) within the given time ....its best for everyone...but if not...ask svc guys if any such options exist for extending time and not violating warranty......... ofcourse don't violate warranty for such thing....i m not saying that your bike will fall into pieces if you do servicing in just 500 kms......i was just presenting the technical aspect.....now do best out of the given options...Originally posted by bloodseeker View Post
