  • Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences

    hey.

yesterday i took my bull for my first loooong trip (150 km..not that long)..

the result....... a reaaalllyyyyyy painfull butt.

the seats are good with springs but lacks cushioning..

did anyone modfiiy your saddles with more cushion which did improve the seating comfort over long rides ??
im planning of stuffing in more cushion. but still some amount of pain has to be there during long rides.. isn't it ?

            • RE CL 350 carburettor

              Hi ,

yesterday while coming back from office, i noticed a decrease in pickup and a tendancy to stall the engine. first i thought it was the fuel was going to reserve.
but i was sure it wasnt. then i adjusted the caburettor idling screw and later found that the issues were gone. so my question is.. will my current positioning of idling screw have any impact on the running perfomance ? (i mean does idling screw only determines the idling AFM ratio or what ?)

              Thanks

                  • Smoke from the rear tyre near the chain

                    Hi

Yesterday i had went for a trip to ooty on my CL 350. Things were fine until we started our way back.
almost halfway into our downward journey, i noticed smoke (little bit, still noticeable) coming out of the rear tyre near the chain area.
The experienced Bulleteer with us told that it was the brake shoes got heated up(also there was this bad burning kind of smell) which due to extensive braking (it was downhill.so had to brake all the time).
so thats why the smoke was coming and nothing to worry.

I put the bike on centre stand and rotated to check if the rotation is hindered by any ways. but it rotated fine.

Is this common or should i have a check at the SVC ?

                    Thanks
                    Nitish

Friends how much Tire pressures are you maintaining on your Classic 350's(solo riding & ~ 85kg rider weight) ? I get different versions always when I ask form Enfield Service station.

The recommended pressure is 22/32 front/back with pillion. I normally fill in 25/35..... I use nitrogen...it lasts longer than the normal air.
                        PS- I do weigh around 90 😉😉

Use engine braking, don't depend on brakes. After the brake pads got heated it is normal that they loose their property and you may feel there no brakes so always use engine braking on hills.

How do I do engine brake ?is it shifting to a lower gear and run downhill ?

Ok thanks. Local filling stations fill up 30/40. I will stick to 25/35 now on. Btw yours is a Classic 350 ?
