  • Royal enfield classic 350 modification ..... Suggestions required

    Hi All,

I have booked Royal Enfield Classic 350 UCE in Oct. 2014 and will get the delivery in May 2015 (after long waiting period).

As we all know, the thump of the new Unit Construction Engine bullet is not so loud. With that, I am thinking of changing the silencer for a better thump after the delivery.
I have heard of Goldstar and megaphone silencers. I believe Goldstar gives the good thump. How is the thump of the megaphone?
Which one would go good with the Classic 350 UCE (twin spark)?
    My requirement is -
    1. Thump should be louder than the stock silencer but not very loud. (Nice tune doog …. Doog...).
    2. The engine and overall performance should remain as it is (mileage, power etc. should not go down).

If possible, please also guide on where I can get such silencer in Goa.

    Other suggestions required as -
    1. Additional LED fog lights for better illumination. Which would be good in terms of better quality, looks of bike, compatibility with technical specification such as electrical load / battery load, what all changes has to be done in battery, coil, alternator and electrical wiring / fuse connections.
    2. Mobile charger to be installed please suggests the good one and also changes to be done in electrical wiring, and effect on load.
    3. Is it possible to incorporate RPM meter and fuel gauge and if yes what all changes has to be done.

Friends please suggest me for above queries.

    Thanks and Regards
    Rohit

    • [Q] Classic 500 Petrol Tank on Classic 350

      Hey all,
I really want to swap the petrol tank for the chrome-black tank of the CL500. Also I want to exchange the front and rear fenders and the oval box to chrome-black CL500 model.
      My Question is:

      1. Is the Petrol Tank same in both models? CL500 is EFI, so is it a problem in swapping the tanks?

      2. The fenders and the oval are not an issue, I guess.

      3. I shall really appreciate if any of you can give me the part numbers of the aforementioned 4 parts (Petrol Tank, Front Fender, Rear Fender, Oval Box) of Classic 500 Chrome and Black.

      Awaiting replies,

      regards,
      Achyut.

        • Silencer and engine queries for UCE

          Hello
I have a Royal Enfield 350cc.Earlier I installed a long bottle free flow silencer which I purchased from a local auto-parts shop.It was hell loud.Even at the speed of 30-40 km/hr,it used to create too much noise and it made me fell even at slow speed I was going too fast and it made me to apply more throttle to even cruise at slow speed. And not only this,it started creating other problems too.Like when I used to start the bike,it started but the engine stuttered and it required revving to get it smooth and sometimes it got off.So I decided to get back to the stock silencer. Now its fine.Still sometimes the engine stutters and require me to revv it even when the climate is hot.But still, sometimes I miss the original thump bullets used to have.So I am thinking to get a new silencer. This time I want something which doesn't get too loud, even on higher speed and doesn't make my engine stutter.I have thought of the up-swept silencer sold by RE dealers and short-bottle made by SANS.Which would be better? And what should I do so that I don't face the problem I used to have with long bottle one?And does these decrease the low-end torque?.And what kind od effect does an after-market silencer have on the bike?Is it safe?(If you guys want I can upload a video that can show my engine stutters)

            1. No they are not same. i think you will need to get 350's tank in that color. yes since its an EFI its not a direct fit and any alteration will sooner or later go kaput.
            2. Fenders and Oval box seems to be a direct Fit.
            3. no idea about part numbers buddy. but since its a body parts you can name them to the dealer when you place order :P

Yes, I have researched the same and have sourced a Black and Chrome 16 L Tank for 2500. Now, am planning for the mudguards, oval box in chrome, very slim spring seats and the 9 spoke Rims and a fatter tyres (maybe 140/70 18).

              Thanks for the reply,

I have also booked Royal Enfield Classic 350 Black on 9th February 2015. Waiting eagerly for my Beast.

                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

                Hi Jaysankar,

As per my opinion, change the silencer after completing 2nd or 3rd service. As I have checked with few Local as well as RE mechs also. If the services are already done, you may certainly go ahead to change the silencer.

                Hope this helps... Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                • Difference between up-jetting and re-tuning the carb!!!

Hey guys I have a Enfield classic 350 with a sans short bottle with glass-wool.I kinda like it but want something more loud.So thought of going for a free flow exhaust. But on the internet I found that ffe exhaust will have a low back-pressure thus making making my bike lean and consume more fuel.So in order to get a ffe work in a right manner i have to get my bike up-jetted or re-tuned.I am taking the name of both the terms because i don't know which one should i take.So please help me and tell me if i should use a ffe or not and if yes, then how can i get my bike re-tuned or up-jetted.Thanks

                    Hello everyone!!

I just purchased a Classic 350 about a month ago. I've been to Hyderabad to Agra via Jaipur on her and the drive was simply amazing
One thing that I am interested in is a good and effective back rest for the rider. I've removed the rear seat for a carriage and dont intend to put it back, but the backrest is something that would improve my rides

                              Hey guys,
Got my Bull a month ago. It's been a pleasant 1200 kms. The ride is very smooth. It jusy glides over the bad road like a piece of cake which is a major plus for someone like me who is coming from Pulsar 220 which used to jar the bones on every pothole( no offense to any owner. I am one myself) The Bull has no such problems. The Bull is also much more comfortable. I must say i was not much of a RE fan. I always found them too bulky and loud and too raw. Couple that with the amount of RE's up here in the north in the Haryana-Punjab region and the way these guy drive the bulls i always thought i would be the last person to own a RE. This bike was bought by my father as a present for me (side note :- everyone in my family except myself is an RE fan. My father, My uncles all of them. I was the only one who did not have the RE bug.) But, owning and driving the classic for the past month has changed this. Have i changed my thinking? No, i still feel it is way too bulky and loud and ancient and raw, i mean what bike in the year 2015 comes without a fuel meter! But i have started to love these traits of the bull. Yes, i have been bitten by the RE bug. Will i buy other bikes? Well yeah, The ninja is next on my list and hopefully by the New Year i will have one in my garage but for now i am in love with the classic

                              Pros:-
                              1) Awesome ride Quality ( much better than pulsar)
                              2) Powerful head lamps
                              3) Very comfortable (again a huge improvement from pulsar)
                              4) Very few vibrations this side of 60
                              5) Novelty factor of the Ash shade.
                              6) Sound is music to ears

                              Cons :-
                              1) No fuel meter
                              2) Mirrors Vibrate a lot (does this happen to everyone or is it just me?)
                              3) Braking is not confidence insipiring ( now please note that the brakes by themselves are perfectly fine. But, coming from the Pulsar i still have those moments of doubt. Hopefully it is just in my mind and goes away soon)
                              That's all of them

                              Accessories :-

Just one the Butterfly leg guard

                              Issues faced :-

The battery that came with the bike was faulty. After just 400 kms problems cropped up. The self would take 2-3 seconds longer and the horn would not work properly. At somewhere around 1000 kms the self stopped working alltogether. Took it to the Service station. They acknoweldged the problem and removed the faulty battery and sent it to exide. I have been promised a replacement under warranty within a week. Till then, they have fitted a spare battery. The manager was very supportive and understanding. Faced no issues which are generally associated with royal enfield showroom personnel.

                              I need some suggestions though
                              1) How do i keep the paint in prime condition? The white gets dirty very easily.
                              2) What average are you guys getting?

Well, that was my small review of what the bike felt like for this one month. I apologize for any mistake with the review as i am still a noob.
