  • Re: Classic 350 my "Kaizer"

    Hi Nidhin,

Congrats on Kaizer. Looking forward to the ownership experience soon. BTW, I can relate to most of the things in your post because I originally wanted to pick up the Duke 390 before going in for the Bullet but my wife did not agree to it at all. A 30 yr old guy with a kid acting like a teenager was the last straw. Finally booked the Bull in June 2013 and took delivery in Dec 2013 and I must say that i'am quite happy with it. I have done 2400KMS till now (only city. Yet to hit the highways) and completed 2 free services. Also got a WB exhaust fitted last week. The bike is quite good. I for one belive that you will not regret your decision. Happy thumping.

    Regards,

    Shravan

I hope you guys went through my last post of pre-purchase experience. Now let me start with my buying experience. I went to the Brand Showroom in Cochin to book the bike along with my wife with a lot of excitement. My excitement lasted only till I reached there cause I was greeted by a very rude salesperson. To be fair to the showroom this guy is the only guy who is indifferent towards potential customers and everyone else treats you quite well. I told him that i wanted to book a classic 350 and he immediately asked me if I really wanted to buy it cause the waiting period is close to 10 months. This was a rude shock as I didn't expect anyone from the showroom itself discouraging you to buy their own product. Somehow I told him that I'm hell bent on buying one and I'm prepared to wait for 10 months and he finally came to the table with the booking form. The booking amount was Rs. 5000 and I gave them my debit card and voila the guy asked me to bring in cash from a nearby ATM because they didn't have a swiping machine. Finally after booking I waited patiently for 6 months months till the phone bell finally rang"Hello is this Mr. Nidhin Johny? Sir, Your Classic 350 has arrived". I was pleasantly surprised and frantically arranged the entire amount in 2 days. Now comes the fun part.
Whenever I called up the showroom after making the payment about the delivery date they used to ask me "Sir, have you received a call from our side stating that your bike has arrived?" Come on man I've coughed up 1.35 lakhs and you don't remember calling me? After 2 days a received another call from the showroom asking me whether I would make the payment for the bike. I had made the payment by DD 2 days ago and these guys don't know it. I can understand ignorance but this is on another level. By God's grace the day arrived when I would take home my "Kaizer". I went there and I was told to wait for sometime by a very polite guy and I just thanked my lucky stars that the "rude" guy was not there. A couple of seconds passed and I got my wish fulfilled...There he was my favorite rude salesperson. He ran through the paperwork and took the bike outside. He told me that the accessories are costly here so it would be better if I buy them from another shop (WOW). He asked me to sit on the bike and suddenly I was told to go cause the showroom was about to close. I guess he wanted to go home to have tea early. It was an abrupt end to a long waiting period. I'll continue with my initial ownership experience in my next post.

        Hi Nidhin,

Just went through the post. If it is any consolation most of the RE dealers are the same. The joy of riding the BULL would compensate for all that. How about some pics of your ride???

                • 3rd Service Update

                  Fellow Bulleters,

Just came back after completing the 3rd service for my Bull. The odo presently stands at 2553 KMS. At this service they also added an additive from 3M claiming that the engine becomes smooth. They also informed me that no customer has come back to them with any issues regading the same. While i'am not too sure about that I wanted to know if an additive is really needed for a bike which has done just 2500 KMS. Your inputs are appreciated. Please find the pics below.

@shravan57 i am using Wurth oil additive past 10k km . Dealer of wurth additive is a friend of mine he told me to try it. I certainly found the difference. My friend who is dealer of Imported performance products which is Use in F1. He told me dont use this additive before 8-10k km because it reduce friction and after 10k engine totally brake-in(In case of RE). due to less friction engine not fully settled. My advice to stay away once you complete your 8-10km, this same theory applied on Fully synthetic. and a engine oil already have all the additive which is need your bike. Its a marketing or way to increase your bill amount, even bajaj(1st one who introduce) ,tvs, yamaha, etc are using this
                      My cl350 done 25000km.

                        Hi Royal Racer,

Thanks for your input. Will stay away from the additive till atleast 10K KM. I'am pretty sure that the svc center will ask me to fill the additive during my next service. I will decline it.

                        Regards,

                          Your welcome,
                          Actaully the theory behind this...
New engine (after5k+ km) is ready for fully synthetic oil and if you ise fully synthetic oil in old engine 50k plus its not good and reduce the life. Then these additive come into play.

                            Hi Prateek,
If you are new to a bullet it would be great if you take someone who knows about the bike along. If possible find out the service history of the bike from the service center. Prateek I just want you to know that each and every classic is different and it may have its own sets of niggles. The joy of owing a classic also comes with the sorrow of reparinbg those small issues. All of these issues can be resolved so don't worry.

                              Hi Nidhin,

I believe you are asking about the loud tappet noises coming from the engine. If you hear the kat kat sound, can you please tell me when this happens? as far as my experience goes I used to hear the noise when I start the bike for the first time in the morning. After going for a few KMS the engine used to become hot and the noise would disappear. When I checked with the service center they told me that it is normal and does not require any adjustment. I do not hear any noises from my bike now. For the record my Bull has done 2700 KMS. Can bullet experts pitch in???
