Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
To what i know all of the three mechanics are doing it the wrong way, engine oil should be hot(not burning) before draining, i would say refrain from this kind of practice.Originally posted by RIO View Post

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
Haii guys.. Is it true that the back pressure created by classic model's silencer will reduce it's engine life? Do we need to change to a bassy silencer to reduce back pressure and to increase the sound?

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
If the silencer is stock, back pressure will not be created. If you have changed aftermarket or done some changes to stock silencer, chances of increase in back pressure increases and will reduce enginr life.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostHaii guys.. Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
Oh I am sorry but please refrain from giving wrong information. Back pressure would surely be less in less restrictive exhaust system than the restrictive one. So changing to a aftermarket exhaust which are all semi free flow or free flow types would actually reduce the back-pressure.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostIf the silencer is stock, back pressure will not be created. Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
Hi Team,
I'am back with my 4th and final service update for my Bull. The service was done on the 1st of Sept and cost around 2000 rupees. Apart from normal servicing my rear brake pads were replaced as they they were worn out. I'am a bit apprehensive as brake pads were changed within 8 months/4000 KMS. Is this normal for a Bullet. Requesting assistance from the gurus on this. Post service my Bull is back to normal doing what she does best. Will come back with more updates later. Bye for now.
Regards

Shravan my rear brake shoe usually last for 7000 kms safely. There is no definite life as it depends upon how much rear brake you apply. Usually front brake should be more in actionOriginally posted by shravan57 View PostHi Team,

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
posting on a behalf of a colleague who is done with free services of his CL 350. what engine oil you folks are using ?
or layman terms : the best engine oil we can buy locally for the bull ?? he plans to get the servicing done outside as he is not happy with the SVC.
and the ride just needs an oil change for now."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

So here is 20,000 Km/17 Months Report:
Issues/Services/Parts Replaced so far.
1> Carburetor falls off usually as the screws holding the rubber which connects to head and carburetor unscrews them due to vibration and falls off frequently.
I have changed the Rubber but didn't work , so only solution is to tighten them frequently.
2> Rear Shocks were Broken a teeth from where we do the Setting for Shock-Abs this was long back during warranty period and got it Replaced under Warranty.
3> Rear Brake Shoes : Replaced Thrice : I am ok with it :P Rs. 260*3 = Rs. 800/-
4> Front Disc Pads : Replaced Once, Front Wheel hub Bearings were worn out at around 2500kms , so was waiting/Driving them on the old/worn out bearings which Damaged the Disc Pads. Rs. 360/-
5> Wheel Balancing. : Once Rs.450/-
6> Oil Change and Oil Filter : at 4000-4200 kms [Five times] approx Rs.5000/-

8> Mirrors were not moving since delivery : got it replaced in warranty before 10k kms
9> Main Stand was bend : got it Replaced under warranty before 10k kms
10> Sprag Clutch use to give a thud noise while using starter : got it replaced under warranty before 10k kms
11> Got Front Wheel Bearings Replaced at 20k kms Rs. 170 for a pair NRB
12> N number of fuses may be around 50 = 50*15 = 750/-
13> First service they added oil and fuel additive somewhere around Rs. 600/-
14>I have not done a Single Service after the Free Services in ASC [they suck Big time] so this so they Misc i assume should not be above Rs. 1000 [Tax+Grease+ etc]
15> Basically I do a service at my old local mechanic which should not have exceeded Rs.1000/- labor for all the services from 10k kms to 20k kms :P
So it comes down to Rs. 10,480/- , 15 Months / 20,000 Km Maintenance.
Accessories :
1. Headlight Upgrade 100/90W Rs. 1250/-
2. 27w*2 LED Fog Lights = Rs. 3600/-
3. Bucket Seats = Rs. 2600/- [I sold the stock ones online for 2200] so it costed me Rs. 400/-
4. Extended Rd 350 Handle bar with Stay Bar for Rs. 1250/-
5. Short bottle Silencer : it was from a friend of mine but should cost around Rs. 850 /- [No damage to Engine/ Mileage, etc ]
6. Embossed Number Plates : Rs. 650/-
7 Accessories Extras [Toggle buttons, Clamps ,Welds, Drills, Bars etc] & Labor ~ Rs. 2000/-
Daily Running Cost :
Mileage 35km/L
Fuel Bills till 20000 km somewhere around : 45,000/- [(20000/35)*78Rs/L]
Maintenance as calculated above = 10,480/-
Accessories : Rs.10,000/-
Cost of the Vehicle : 1,36,323/- [May 2013 , Thane MH Passing]
Insurance Renewd once in May 2014 = Rs 2100/-
So total Cost goes to : 2,03,903
Daily Running cost Inclusive all ended up some Rs 2,03,903/ 510 Number of ownership days= ~Rs. 400/Day inclusive All
Basic Daily Running cost is 80Rs./Day I travel 36kms round trip for the Office

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 350 Owner's Review and Experiences
[MENTION=62359]classic.infinity[/MENTION].. Nicely done. The cost breakup is really appreciated. The list if things changed under warranty is quite long
Btw, i too am taking a interest in owning a bull. If things go as planned, will get in winters. Its just that being a yamaha owner for ~5 years now, the niggles list here gave me shivers.
Ride safe and have fun.
Regards
Nadeem
