No i believe they are trying to get a demo piece in by tomorrow before the launch programme. But the ones which will be delivered will take time.

Hey Sushrut. Somehow I completely missed your post .. Thanks. I was wondering if the right side heating issue had something to do with the right side assembly.
          Thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks dude. I read your post yesterday in office and tried it out while driving back home. Yes, the gear engages with just a flick of the clutch lever but have to get used to this style now. Concentrating on roads and other drivers/riders made me revert back to my old style of pulling the clutch way back. Will have to put in a more concious effort now.
One way of changing gears is that you only use your index and middle finger to pull the lever leaving the ring and little finger on the handle , this way you only flick the clutch lever rather than pulling it all the way back.

How is the ride comfort on this bike? Do you guys feel the bumps hard? or is it comfortable for long rides?

I don't think so. So far no tr for 300. Only D200 tr is available.
So far 15 ppl booked the bikes & delivery would be commencing from may end or june 1st week.

Off-Topic: Even i asked for a tr in RC8-R. Ppl are too adamant to give one .

I have another question for the proud owners of the 300, does the model being offered here in India also have the daytime running light feature? Is there a radiator protection grill available in the market for the 300?

Sure.. buddy.. whenever you start the engine d headlight is on! No switch for it.. as it's mandatory in several foreign countries..in N250 it was too when others passers by indicated something round with their finger s to switch it off during sunlight.. LOL.

I don't know why they are to start so delayed delivery in Chennai!!!. When I visited their showroom last time on 15th April, they said they were taking adv. booking only from 4th April which was a official directive from Bajaj auto, and both the white and green were there prior to launch. When asked, one KTM showroom guy named Radhakrishnan told me that already 14 bookings are there (on that date) and if they take any further booking it will be in the 2nd lot and need at least 2.5 months waiting. And when asked whether those two bikes in display are for demo purpose he told it is already allotted to some customers. So why this delay for the first batch of delivery till date, only they and their customers know..

                            Well a quick update.
-- I have completed 300 kms so far and never gone past 5K rpm.
-- 73 Kph at 5k rpm on 6th gear is the fastest I have done.
-- Absolutely no vibes and after having her filled up again, the FE given is around 27 kpl. I have been riding on "ECO" mode so the claimed 28 kpl figure is beleivable. Note:- I have not been babying her so quick accelerations and engine stops have been used to good effect.
-- Tip for the to be 300 owners: Be ready with a tankpad and get it fitted asap. Got a very minor tank scratch thanks to my jacket zipper within the 4 days it took me to put one on. In the hurry to put the tank pad, I ended up getting some dirt beneath the clear sections of the below pad:
Performance Racing Store. Ariete CARBON CLEAR TANK PAD
-- Although I have been riding planting my toe on the foot pegs and gripping her with my thighs, I still feel a little bit of twinge on my wrists and shoulders. But what really has taken a beating is my lower back. A weak lower back, stiff suspensions and pathetic road conditions are making their presence felt and is the only complaint I have till now.
-- Exhaust sound... This is funny, a kid in my locality told me he knows of dock-dock bikes (I presume bullets) and dick-dick bikes (I presume the commuters 100+ cc bikes). Mine is the first he has heard saying dhak-dhak

Overall I am very happy with the bike and can't wait for the 800 kms to get over so that I can push her to 6-7k rpms...

Thanks for the input about the tank pad. Great to hear that you have returned a FE of 28 Kpl. I am sure that after thet first servicing this figure is going to increase. About the stiff suspension, can't the setting be changed to a more softer and comfortable mode.

Also guys please help me in procuring a radiator guard for my Ninja if any one knows of an outlet which can courier a piece to me . Please PM me the contact details.
