Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

One thing which i have seen with a lot of people( please dont get me wrong as this info is for the forum in general) is that they confuse the frame slider with FARING slider or faring protector. Frame slider is to protect the frame of the motor bike rather than the faring. With this in mind one must see his usage of the bike. if it is to be used on the track then definately one should go in for the softer carbon fibre/ derlin frame sliders. These disintegrate when the bike falls at a high speed thus protecting the frame and not necessarily the faring which might be sacrificed. The rubber based sliders may protect the faring if the bike falls from a stand still position but may not be helpful in high speed crashes. These are definately cheaper.

Is it 73 kph or 5k rpm or 6th gear? Coz the P220 does 75kph in 5k rpm on 5th gear. I guess it should be higher than that.

I think he is right, going by the calculations, it would do just around 75 at 5k rpm in 6th gear.

Ninja 300 or Duke 390? Which to buy? Any suggestions... Damn, it is so difficult choosing between the two.

Two are of completely different genere of bikes. Ninja 300 is packed with power as well as eye-catching sporty style while duke 390 is a naked street bike loaded with good performance. Now it depends on your perspective towards biking. And moreover the former costs almost double than yhe latter as expected and for the latter at least six more months you have to wait. Now it's your choice.

And from performance comparison, IMO duke 390 will surely smoke off ninja 300 in drag race as the technical values assert. But in case of top speed, there should be a steep competition with margin where, I think, Ninja will win.

Just to give you a comparison on the top speed, the Duke 690 does around 190kph at max, Ninja 300 does around 170~185. Going by that the 390 should do somewhere around 160~170 top speed. But if you ask me that's a pretty good top speed for a 390cc naked bike.
                            (All are speedo indicated).

Firstly as indicated above the two machines should not even be compared. Secondly top speeds in India can only be achieved for a sustained period on closed tracks abet its inviting trouble on the roads we have. This into consideration a very small percentage of buyers would ride their machines on the tracks during the ownerships of their machines. The average owner would be using them as a commuter bike or an occassional weekend getaway bike. So it is now a very personal choice for an individual whether he/she should go for a 300 or a 390. Let the heart overtake the mind when it comes to purchasing bikes in this category. Numbers really dont matter to a majority of passionates bikers with in a given cc segment of bikes. So let the NINJA fans be swept from their feet by the green goblin and the same can be said for the KTM fans.

I know, I'm putting it up just as facts, nothing more. Its a bit strange, caz we shouldn't even be comparing the Duke with CBRs and Ninjas, but then again there are quite a few who do that.
