Bikes like these are bought from the heart, my friendOriginally posted by nitin_sports View Postnice review there MG.
Was calculating, from cost of running perspective. --> Almost 4rs. a KM for fuel.
24K for metzeller tyres every 8K km average --> 3Rs per KM.
Servicing around 2500 every 6K. + lubing every 500 km and misc. --> 1 Rs. a km
so approx is around 8Rs. a KM.
The way this bike crunches miles,
a weekend pune-kolhapur run 500 km round trip would cost me 4K bucks.
and a long ride like pune-delhi run 3500Km round trip would be 28K INR.
wooooooooshhhh...
Ride more, browse less.

A few more kilometers logged and here are my observations.
1. Weird noises persist. Its as if something is loose and gives a sound similar to a very loose chain.
2. Stop go traffic is a nightmare. I am simply not able to slot into neutral properly. Have to switch off the bike and then sometimes the starter plays foul
3. The grip - Heavenly
4. The power delivery and balance - Neat and non fussy.
5. Real time mileage has varied from 35 kmpl to 21 kmpl.
6. Overtaking, slicing through traffic, befuddled car guys - an absolute joy.
My wife is already complaining. She is scared of being thrown off the seat and demands that the Pulsar-220 not be sold

Have you shown it at service center? What did they have to say about the noise?Originally posted by Mik View PostA few more kilometers logged and here are my observations.

Havn't had the time so far. Too much work/travel going on. Will be showing it in a few days when I go for the oil change at 150km.Originally posted by AmitRavi07 View PostHave you shown it at service center? What did they have to say about the noise?

Seems like you will be one of the first to change oil before first service. Do share your experience.Originally posted by Mik View PostHavn't had the time so far. Too much work/travel going on. Will be showing it in a few days when I go for the oil change at 150km.

In other news. The mighty Beast has arrived
ZERO to TWO HUNDRED in 7.2 secs
Powered by a distinct READY TO RACE mentality, KTM is Europe’s leading high-performance street and offroad sport motorcycle manufacturer
P.S.. It's a bit out of topic though

Re: KTM 390 - The original Hooligan - Ownership Thread
I was also dying to test a windshield on the bike and had planned to put the R15 visor on it before the Chennai ride but got the bike very late so couldn't do it. But glad that I did this ride without any windshield else I wouldn't have known that high speed rund are not bad even without the windshield
That said would like to test it with a windshield sometime in future
You didn't read it properly. I alraedy finished 13k and returned the bikeOriginally posted by Chandrajit View PostOMG, you have already done 11K on your 390....i reckon by the time i finish writing this post it will be 12K :P
Cost per km will be roughly Rs7 or little lesser. Rear tyre last for 10k and the front will last for 15k or more. So that will come at Rs 2 per kmOriginally posted by nitin_sports View Post

No it shouldn't be because of test bike. I tried quite a few times but it becomes really slow once it crosses 165. And regarding top speed wind, tyre life, rider weight and various other parameters comes into playOriginally posted by Abhiman View PostMG awesome average speed..
regarding the top speed, did you try to reach 172+ more than once and each time it stopped at 172???
My bike reaches higher speeds in crouched position..
Could it be because it is a test bike?
While accelerating the chain cover vibrates making a weird noise. It will be there on all the bikes. Happens at higher gear and low speeds. Are you talking about the same? Also check the fitment of chain cover, saree gaurd and rear hugger. If either of the three is loose it will make some noiseOriginally posted by Mik View PostA few more kilometers logged and here are my observations.

That is quite surprising because the bike I had written and the other test bikes never had neutral finding difficultyOriginally posted by Mik View Post2. Stop go traffic is a nightmare. I too suspect it is chain cover noise. I have removed the tire hugger and Saree guard to check that. Chain cover is properly fitted.Originally posted by MG View Post

The toolkit and open sockets under the rear seat also appears to be making some noise.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Re: KTM 390 - The original Hooligan - Ownership Thread
What is the proper tyre pressure for front tyre? Manual says that it is 29PSI. But a sticker in 390's rear swing arm says that it should be 25 PSI. I'm confused.....Someone please help...
I don't want the tyre to wear out prematurely due to incorrect tyre pressure....
