Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Check thsi thread.Originally posted by RoboRider View PostToday, I saw a KTM 390 fitted with a Givi Monolock kind of box on its pillion seat, at the KTM BTM showroom. What surprised me was that the box was of KTM make.
Did anybody get their rear brake pedal adjusted downwards? I enquired with SVC guys but they said, it can be adjusted downwards in a Duke200 but not on 390, they said the rear brake will lockup due to ABS! I am getting right ankle pain because the brake pedal is slightly above the right footrest. Please advice.

If the above info is correct, then for 600 Rs you can get 4 cans aggregating to 440 ml (440ml = 600 Rs)Originally posted by riazmomin View PostI get it from Shell petrol bunks where it is sold on the shelf. Rs 150 for 110ml can. Survives for 2 chain sprays.
Motul lube comes in 400ml cans for Rs 500 per can. (400ml = 500 Rs)
If this is true, then how comes Motul expensive?
And according to you, 110 ml of Cyclo lube survives for two sprays. If this is true, then nobody can save your rims from getting dirty. With Motul, just 20 ml is enough to keep the entire chain well lubricated for days.
OKS chain spray is a very good lube. Here the problem is with the SVC guys literally bathing the chain with lube and the chain even end up dripping lube. Any lube will spray out if over-applied.If you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
As per my 1k kms experience on 390, the hard seat on Duke is a good thing for long rides. It is in fact more comfortable for me as compared to softer saddle of my previous ride. On softer seat our bum digs in after some time on saddle, but on the harder one, it remains firm.
I am done with 1st service and the experience with the Noida SVC was good.
They pour 1.6 L of engine oil, when i told them about the manual recommendation of 1.5 L, the head mech told that there was some cercular from company to put 1.6 L as 1.5 L is not adequate. Could somebody confirm from there respective SVC?
Bike has smooth-en up after first service and gear shifting has also become soft.
One can automatically come to know that he has hit the magic figure of 120 kmph as after that wind blast is high but manageable. To cope with it, I am planning to buy PowerPart windshield.
Is it worth all the money and will it help in coping the wind blast post 120?
I am not a very DIY kind of a person so looking for a direct fit option.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Has anyone found a consistent way to make the gear shifts smoother? The strange part is that some days/rides the gears are quite smooth but on some days/rides they still have a big "thud". I also noticed that on some ride the gears are initially smooth but then become hard.
I am talking about the initial 3 gears only. 4,5,6 are quite smooth.
The hard gears are driving me nuts

From multiple reports on the net, the power part windshield is completely useless.KTM Duke 390 | RE Interceptor 650

the powerpart windshield being imported in india look small and inadequate for 2.5K..Originally posted by flyingJian View PostBike has smooth-en up after first service and gear shifting has also become soft.

instead many people are going for yamaha Fazer windshield.. cost 250 bucks..
goto a welding guy, he will drill two neat holes(using the soldering pin) in the windshield.. and done.. enjoyy..

I am dying for an Orange chain.. no power part in INDIA for that..
There seems to be one available in internationally, but importing that would cost a bomb and lot of hassel..
painting the O/Z-ring chains might not be a good idea..
any suggestions????

How many sprays does Motul can survives? As per your calculations, it has to come for 20 Sprays. Let me know if your real time count is correct according to this. The last time I know the price of Motul can was Rs 650 for lube and 600 for chain clean. This was an year back, I would be surprised if prices have come down.Originally posted by junaid12345678 View PostIf the above info is correct, then for 600 Rs you can get 4 cans aggregating to 440 ml (440ml = 600 Rs)

You seem to have not read my earlier posts, Irrespective of amount of lube I used from Cyclo, there has been hardly any lube sprayed on to the RIMs. So there is no dirtiness on the rims as you ASSUMED. I used Tribocor, and probably less than 20ml (I am not sure how to measure that), it doesn't take a minute to make whole rim dirty.
Motul was sprayed at SVC and it was done under my supervision and I know how much amount to spray, in couple of minutes rim was dirty again, not just that. some part of lube was in the side wall of the tire.
I suggest you to try Cyclo and come back.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thought of putting myself as well in the lube fight (I know it sounds ackward
) but here is the deal.
I decided to clean the chain as my baby has done 700kms after first service and I was not sure if it was cleaned at first service. Glad that I did - look what I found

For goodness sake I aint driving a lorry. The advie by ktm booklet stating spray of water and dry is definitly a no no. Thankfully got some petrol and cleaned and left her to dry. It aint the best cleaning, but I feel better that so much of grease/dirt has been removed.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Price have come down for sure as I bought Motul a month ago for Rs 500 (400ml). As you haven't used motul for a year now, I suggest you to give it a shot. They may have re engineered their product and may change your opinion.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostHow many sprays does Motul can survives? And I will definitely give Cyclo a try. Any link to buy online?

Motul was used by SVC 2 months back and I still prefer using Cyclo after using it (Motul).Originally posted by junaid12345678 View PostPrice have come down for sure as I bought Motul a month ago for Rs 500 (400ml).
