Try suzuki gs150 which has lhs disc like f2. If not just change fork legs to pulsar on rhs and go for complete pulsar set up which is easy to find. I had pulsar set up on my classic fiero

• Re: TVS fiero F2 FX compatible front Disc Plate (disc rotor)

AFAIK, there is no cross-compatibility with other bikes. The F2 / FX disc brake kit was manufactured by TVS-Girling as it says on the brake fluid reservoir cap on top and on the caliper assembly below, if I remember correctly. It's best to stick with the original disc plate as the dimensions of other bikes won't match. Even if the disc is the same size, the mounting bolt holes could be different. The front wheel hub adapter is also unique. I had purchased a disc plate in 2010 for 1,000 I believe. It might still be available now with TVS spares stockists. At the time I got my FX, the only other bike with LHS disc brake was my friend's RE T'bird. And no, the disc won't match. TVS uses a smaller one. I've used disc pads by ASK. They make a shitty squeaky sound after some time, just like the drum pads by ASK do. ANL or Allied Nippon Limited might be still making brake pads. So, check and buy those. They have better bite as their material is slightly softer I've been told. In real usage, they don't squeal as much and last longer too. So, they're better. I found Nissin disc pads once and am using them. They might be fake or maybe they're original because of the recent TVS-BMW tie-up. They're better than ASK. Important: Please change the disc pads if you put a new disc OR change the disc if you put new disc pads. Or you will get the same grooves and bad breaking because they work as an unit. The same rule applies for chain and sprocket set.

As Abhi said, try the GS. Or your option could be to use the pulsar idea he used.

If you want to save money, buy a used disc or use your old one. Check with vernier calipers for disc thickness. (The safe limit is mentioned on the disc). Give it to a lathe operator and let him make it brand new by turning it for a little while. Check the thickness again for safety. Talk to other expert mechanics and be double sure before you do this. You'll end up with an almost-new tru disc. But put new disc pads with this set-up.

It's lovely and nice to know you're performing an overhaul. All the best for it. Felt great to hear! Do share pictures along the way.

Hi, Abhi. Nice to see you here again. And are you still riding any other fieros sometimes?

And how is gix? Everyone is missing here on the old forum.

I'm fine bro and how have you been? Another piece of information to you and to anyone interested in going for 200 4v sety-up.The apache 200 bore kit is a direct fit on our bikes. I had read overdrive test reviews and there they had mentioned that the connecting rod length has been increased etc.But they were wrong.Meaning the 200 bore kit and it's 4v head is a bolt-on job.

fiero gods need your help, bike is 35k on odo, white blue smoke is coming when the engine heats up, which it does after 50kms... mechanic is saying full block piston needs to be replaced which will cost around 3500 including labour/new oil etc.... I think only the rings are kaput... what might be the scenario...
and if changing the block is the solution then should I go for 180conversion? what changes are required to the head & valves

Thanks

Hi all,

I have successfully made some changes to my fiero,
below are the changes
1. front aloy weel with disk.
2. rear aloy weel with durm.
3. swing arm.
4. front fork set.
5. clip on haldle bar
all the above are from apache
6. rear suspension (from pulsar)

It is now more than one and half years now, this is my primary commute.
Every thing is good except for the rear suspension.
I feel it is a bit too stiff, i am getting back pain because of this.
I want to know if it is possible to adjust the stiffnes of the shock absorbers.
All the mechanics i spoke to are saying the only way is to change them altogather.
If it is not possible which will be the best choice for a smooth ride.
Can some one help me with this.

thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone,

Finally my Apache 160 has been transplanted with RTR 200 4v setup. But bike is not near perfect few things to be sorted out.
Well the RTR 4v isn't a direct bolt-on job for Apache RTR 160/180 and few minor modifications to be done, but for fiero its almost bolt-on Job.
Please note that RTR-200 parts are not available readily and keep all the parts before build.
Thanks gixxer_junkie for the inputs that he provided during build.
After going through this build we have learnt lot of things has been done by TVS on RTR-200 platform.
Will write-up the changes and modifications considered for this setup.

Go for it, apache and fiero have a shared engine design and architecture, even the stroke length is same 57.8 mm for both. However, the valve port sizes are different due to the cc difference, so would need head porting to be done. Also, the cdi/idi unit would be different and the exhaust would need upgradation to deal with more exhaust pressure. Ensure the head work is done properly otherwise you would keep facing issues like low power/fuel efficiency.
