Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
Should b done only when mechanic is experienced enough and has done this before. Today's scenario, all this exercise doesnot look worthy when nice upgraded bikes r available as stock. Better to keep the old beast as stock and enjoy as long as possible because even today it can beat any bikes of similar cc (excluding fuel ignition bikes) by decent margin particularly in city traffic conditions.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostGuys..
Will altering the engine (reboring , using rtr180 stuffs) make the bike less reliable?

I think stock RTR 180 bore+piston kit will be a straight fit..Of course you will have to change the Carburetor to 29mm and increase Exhaust pipe DiaOriginally posted by IamAditya View PostGuys..

to cater to the increased CC of engine...The top head will also require lathe work..

I have done exactly this to my Fiero. The Exhaust and carb are still pending though.Originally posted by psr View PostI think stock RTR 180 bore+piston kit will be a straight fit..Of course you will have to change the Carburetor to 29mm and increase Exhaust pipe Dia

Awesome, gixxer! This mod sounds great, just like your other ones beforeOriginally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostFinally, on the first of this month my bike was modded with a 4 valve head.
Long time. How have you been?
And lemme guess your set-up now. Is it 200 cc again to match the head?
Or have you modded the 160/180 head to 4-valve?
Details please and as usual, any pix?
Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

The displacement is still 180. That is,the bore is still the same as before, which is that of the rtr 180,but the head is that of the rtr200 and hence had to modify both the head and the stock piston for this modification. The jetting is still going on at the moment ,as the modification is still running lean, because even with the 120 main jet, along with 4 full turns of the fuel screw ,doesn't seem to be enough. I have tried keihin 125.5 karizma main jet,but it is equal to that of the mikuni rtr 180's ,which has 118 and they aren't enough. So i am waiting for the availability of himalayan's 125 main jet now. If none of them are enough, then i will get the main jet fabricated. Pictures will follow shortly.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

I've been good too bro. Been busy riding. Hope you are too. It's the season of catching rides because of the monsoons. So Sundays are booked usually.
Oh cool, you retained the cc. But I'm confused though. How did the 200 head match the 180 head? The squish area or combustion chamber I mean? I'm assuming the 200 head is more than 62.5 mm (which is of 180). Also, I noticed from pix that TVS has given the oil cooler inlet in the head. Or I'm mistaken. Have you plugged and closed that? If you've retained your old oil cooler routing in the same way, as it was. Unless, you've put the new rtr 200 oil cooler.Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.
