IMO Reliable and simple addition would be the round dome of the FX. It has a good spread and can be easily fit
Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

    • I have been having lot of issues with my fiero from few days...
The problem am facing is with cold starts and hiccups(misfiring)..
I need around 10min to start and then after a few hundred meters she stops and never comes back to life again...I have pushed her back home several times.

I got her checked at few local garages and i was told to replace the carb.
I went to Zen motors last week to get it sorted, but it was under renovation and boom all the efforts to take her there was a waste of time and energy(i mean riding half way and pushing the bike halfway).

      The current condition is,
      1.Wiring is in good shape.
      2.Need to replace Spark plug.
3.Planning to get a p150 carb today,so do I need to change the jet if I get the p150 carb?
4.There is oil leakage from cylinder head, need to check that too.
5.I need to check the fuses.

      Any suggestions guys!!!

Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

      • just get the bike started and turn your handle bars both sides and observe for engine stop.

it can be a faulty wire but not visible outside. i had the same problem sorted out with wirring .

Jetting has to be done with the p150 carb.If you're interested in getting it sorted out with a good mech, then there's rajesh Who used to work at ZEN.He has opened a new garage in girinagar. If you want his number let me know.

            Hi manubhat,
I faced the exact same problem with my fiero for a couple of months despite many mechanics trying to find the fault. Spent a fortune doing that actually... and not the mention the frequent 'pushing'...
Finally one of the mechanics switched the engine on and turned the handle both ways several times and hence moving the wires and found out thats when the engine died... so it was clear that the fault was wid the wiring but unfortunaltely he cudnt spot the exact place where the wiring was faulty... fed up i just ahd to replaced the entire wiring kit ! no problems since then... may be this is the case with your bike too.

and talking of Zen motors, i have recently shifted to blore and i once went to Zen motors hoping to give my fiero for a service. I am not sure but the building on bull temple road, basavangudi in which i suppose they were was closed and looked desolated... Am i correct or did i check out a wrong building.. cn u guide me how to get to zen motors.. ? Thnx in advance.

                • Hey Fieroids
Its been a very long time since this thread has no visitors, and no one is discussing anything about the bike like the good old days...

Its really a pity that a bike like this is left all of a sudden in this thread.

I never realized how good the bike was until it was too late, today when I am test riding the best bikes out there to upgrade from this machine, all I get is DISAPPOINTMENT and its really a shame.

Having ridden R15 v2.0 with daytona race kit on a race track and yesterday a KTM Duke 200, I am really surprised with the companies claiming bhp and torque figures also trellis frames and delta-boxes with fuel injection, steel braided brake lines and what not space age technologies to prove that their bike is better than anything else money can buy.

The modification I've made to this bike have cost me a fortune and I always hear people tell me I am stupid to invest soo much on this machine for nothing, but very seriously I have not seen a bike which would satisfy me after what it has become.
The grunt and responsiveness is miles ahead, the brakes are brilliant too.

Today we have bikes which have good grip, great control and a whole lot of style, but all of these lack serious amount of grunt. If only TVS or Suzuki would have come to a decent and more powerful upgrade instead of apache, I think no other bike would have ever come close to it.
Even the new 2012 apache rtr series is a joke of an upgrade.

I am sure that the fiero has left me and many many others with a no compromise attitude which makes us even more disappointed with the current crop of good bikes to choose from.

Fiero was the first ever bike I rode in my life, and if things stay the way they are now, I guess it will be the last ever bike I ride too.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Good to hear from you nanotech buddy and where's vignesh nowadays?
The reason it's good to upgrade this bike itself ,is that ,i believe a decent upgrade should be a locally manufactured, LC twin.So till such a bike arrives ,it would be better to keep upgrading the performance potential of the fiero itself and as far as i'm concerned she will stay with me even when i buy another one.

You are right when you say about fiero but I think it's like talking about old Maruthi 1000cc or esteem when today's hatchback start with 1200 cc and achieve top speed on 140+ with ease. Maybe esteems were the best cars of those days and so was our fiero but it's time to move on. I won't think anymore that my Fz is inferior to my old fiero.
