  • Happy Deepawali to all...

2 days back I converted my fiero to 175cc.I installed used rtr160 bore, head kit and rtr180's TCI and ignition coil. Now Its running very smoothly. I'm Happy with the performance of the bike. but bike's engine get heated very much after running few kms. I have doubt that, its due to stock silencer. Please anybody tell me how to reduce the heat.

    Thank you..

Which carburetor are you using ? Have you done Pilot and main jet upgrading in carb., to suit the increase in displacement.

By taking suggestion of friends (Gixxer,Nanotech and of course you) I have replaced my stock carb with pulsar180's BS29 carb.I installed that around 2 months back. Now also carburetor is in stoke condition. I don't know the size of main and pilot jets of this one. Is this carburetor requires any upgradation or changes? please Suggest me..

        Thank you..

Gixxer Junkie has a working configuration of the Carb., and so it is best to get the Jet sizing values from him....
          Good Luck.

            • You would be having the main jet size of 112.5.
Even I felt a massive difference in heat when I got the job done.

If you work on the exhaust port, the heat feels to be reduced.
But once I swapped the exhaust with the RTR one, the heat was gone.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

                Hi NanoTech,
Today I came to know that my carb having 117.5 main jet and 17.5 pilot jet... RTR 180 having 125 main jet and 20 pilot jet...Is this carb needs up jetting? which size of jets you are using now?

This time I used shell 20-w-50, due to that heat increasing ?? How about Synthetic or semi-synthetic oils??

                Thank you

I don't think the front forks of the apache would fit your F2.
I was getting a pair of fiero ones (not originals) for 2200.
The original ones are even more expensive, and take months to arrive.
He is suggesting the fork pistons as I have already replaced the inner tubes&springs.

                  Grinding noise ?
                  Only in 2nd gear ? that's strange...
This has been there since a long time-it is more of whining than grinding.

                  • My bike has heavy missing (as if fuel is stopping in between) when I start it in the morning after leaving it idle for few days. It becomes normal after running the bike for a few kms. What is the issue here? I had got the carburetor cleaned during the last service. The carburetor is stock (12 years old).

Switched oil to Motul 5500 recently and the performance and smoothness has improved.

                          • I am having a 2003 Fiero F2 . The vehicle is in decent condition but the engine needs some work to be done . But i am looking for a good mechanic in Chennai for engine overhaul/swap with RTR block.. Tried searching the thread but did not find info on this.
and apologies for hijacking the thread from more of a technical to a help me query...
