Buddy,go for either the FX or the classic pulsar one.Or you can go for the yezdi roadking's metal one which has a metal reflector.

About your bike,it has everything, except being manufactured here.If kawasaki had taken up production here,it'd have been the perfect ride for all the guys who like screamers on a budget.Keep us posted bro.

Get yourself some fairing sliders and remember the Jive indicators bit that PSR has mentioned.
Keep tyre pressure correct at all times to avoid bent rims-you'll be shocked to know the price.
Go easy on the rear brake-it is a twin piston caliper!
Last but not the least...no mods!

What about the bracket, we won't be able to use the same right ?
and the rear part which holds all the wiring, is it available with the sealbeam too ?
Will I have to fabricate the brace to hold the number plate ?
Also is anything available which has a pilot lamp inside ?

The quality of KTM manufactured here and the Ninja is night and day, I am pretty sure if it was manufactured here, it wouldn't be as good as it is right now, something tells me that this bike shouldn't be made available for anyone to buy in a country like ours, maybe the high price already targets a different market.

            All the best.
The rear tyre was punctured and even after repair it does lose good amount of air in 3~4 days.
I am against the idea of frame sliders, I'll keep in mind about the small tid-bits as replacement parts.
The tyres are not upto the standard, and I did inquire about pirelli sport demon, they aren't available above 120 size. All the tyre guys are recommending continental as that's all they have.

I'll swap the tyres before the rains.

Surprisingly, I haven't locked the rear or the front wheel yet. The brakes are good and since the bike is heavy and long it doesn't weave around too much as R15 or RTR does.
MODS ?? Well if I could afford even the thought of it...
I was wanting to change the rear-set config with reverse shift as I like the downward shift more, and the race boots don't fit it very well between the shifter and peg gap, I always have to shift from the edge of the boot. It works alright with regular sneakers though.
But when I did find out the price, I could have bought another fiero with that money...

You need brackets,as the stock ones won't do and my ride has samurai's brackets holding the classic pulsar doom.In this case i bent the brackets of the samurai to fit the classic pulsar doom, because it's wider than the roadking one which i had been using previously. You can bend em by covering them with cloth and then using pliers ,so that there won't be scratches.

The number plate brace doesn't need changing.

The wiring will be held inside itself.

The indicators are that of the shogun on my bike.

The classic pulsar comes with a parking light, maybe you can use it as pilot?

If you go for FX brackets, then there will be no need to bend it,as it's doom is wider than that of the pulsar. HH Ambition also has a wider doom. Then there's the yam crux.

Round headlights are aesthetically the best! For me,i changed it after the first service itself along with the low std bullet's handle, which since some time now is upside down.

I meant to say headlight dome minus the bulbs saar.I know even a 100w set up is still a sucker for your configuration.Or you can try the Ambitions Dome. Its case has ample of space at the rear to house the wiring.I have one in stock. You can try it if you want.
Highly OT-Planning to fit the tbts round headlight on the 220 err 230 sorry.

                  • @ Rakesh

We don't get 35w H7,H3 or H1 bulbs here, which fit inside the projector...
all those are available in 55w only...
So using a projector which supports either one of these is a waste.

                    @ gix

Will try working around with the pulsar dome, i would want the pilot lamp.
My front num plate was attached to the dome previously, I've put up 2 strips of metal to held em up now, was wondering if any bracket comes with a num plate holder too.

It is so bad that after 15 to 20 minutes you WANT to move away from the site.....I guess none of the developers of the Xbhp Upgrades actually use and see for themselves the "Feel" their upgrades causes......

                        • Exactly.

They have visually upgraded themselves to make it a so to say a best forum, but its not serving a forum purpose as it should.
Even international forums tend to remain the old way to maintain an easy visual approach, and understanding.
The pictures cannot be uploaded which i guess is the biggest loss.

Even the color schemes are too tacky.

                          • Hi All,

I am interested in getting Apache TCI for my Fiero FX Green 2005 model.

I'll first tell you about the starting problem:
Approx. once a week, my bike refuses to start; or starts and dies after 4-5 seconds.
Only after a wait of 5 to 10 mins it starts again. It can happen anytime and not just for cold start.
Except for this once-a-week thing, my bike starts in the 1st kick no even with a cold engine.

I have spent almost 6 months running from one mechanic to other with no success.
A tvs showroom suggested me to replace the following parts
                            1. CDI
                            2. Ignition coil
                            3. Magnetic stator plate
                            4. Entire wiring
with estimated cost of Rs. 4400/-

I strongly think it was a rip off and so i declined to do it.

Now when i got to know from this forum about Apache TCI for Fiero FX; I am really interested in exploring this option.

                            1. My Fiero FX is Kick-start model. Will it accept Apache TCI?
                            2. How much is the latest cost?
                            3. Will it solve my starting problem?

                            Any help would be appreciated

                            • CDI to IDI/TCI conversion:
                              1. No matter whether its kick/self start, Apache's TCI will work great on a Fiero.
                              2. TCI unit- 753 INR and IDI coil - 450 INR. I am using Thunderbird's IDI coil which costs 750. I don't think it will make any difference, but it is working fine.
                              3. It might or may not. You simply can't judge whats happening with words. But this would be a worthy upgrade.

NOTHING ELSE REQUIRED!! No need to change pickup coil/stator assembly.

Ok, here I have some pic which might be useful and you can DIY.

This is the Apache RTR 180's TCI unit. Its green colored and prefer this one. You also have the choice of going for Apache 150's TCI, but this one is better.

These are the connectors which I have stripped for using it in my Fiero. It is not necessary that you have to strip it. The blue and orange wire goes to the IDI coil and it is a direct fit.
The white and brown comes with a socket that is also a direct fit to the white and brown socket coming out of the engine: This is the pick-up coil connector.
The orange color wire coming out of the TCI must be connected with the Black/red wire which will be present in the socket that connects to the CDI unit in your bike.
The black/white wire from the TCI unit must be grounded. The remaining wires from the TCI are for RPM meter and throttle switch, which i don't bother. Fiero FX has a RPM meter and a throttle switch(TPS or whatever it is). Do all these connections properly and IT WILL WORK!! PM me or some pros here who might help you out. Good Luck!!

                              • What about the yellow pole on the stator that the F2/FX has and the classic fiero doesn't have ???
The way the starter works for the Classic fiero and apache series is similar, but the way F2/FX works is a bit different.

This is the classic fiero's stator coil

However I feel that kookaburra should change the yellow pole on the stator coil and that has to be sufficient to solve his starting problem, as it is responsible for the sparking of the bike unlike the classic fiero and apache series which fire through the entire stator.

But the good news here is that although the stators are different, the winding pattern as well as the no of poles meant to do what it does remains the same, so if you disconnect the yellow pole altogether (solder out its connections), you do get the classic fiero's stator !

You can still use the apache's TCI unit with no probs, although you'll get rid of the yellow pole in doing so, as its the only thing required to spark your bike currently.
Having said that, if you change that particular thing itself, you still solve your problem, keeping everything stock, but finding a fiero FX's yellow pole is very hard to source as the assembly comes attached to the stator, so you'll have to find one loose.
Also getting it attached isn't an easy job, but even here the good news is that the pulsar's one should fit too...

Decide what you want, we are here to help !
