After spending years on a fiero, I can bet that you would never feel happy over the likes of CBR 150R, R15 and the duke.
These bikes are really fast and light, but they lack pure grunt which fiero has.
Just imagine the clutch going bad every 5k kms and the rear sprocket withering away and shedding its teeth, its not the amount of power your bike has, its the way it gets delivered.
Fiero isn't even close when it comes to straight-line speed, but the way the bike gets off from a standing start even at low rpm's, like you decide to shift only at 4k on every gear, the bike has enough juice to get going real quick, but for these new gen bikes anything below 6k RPM is like a buildup for nice power which will come up ahead.
Our mind has been riding the fiero all these while, listening to higher engine note will make you shift gears, and you will end up shifting at 5k rpm max, and you'll feel something is wrong with the bike as all its doing it trying to buildup for the power and never gets there.
But if its a 250cc bike, it has much much higher grunt than that of the 150cc.
Will make you feel like a fiero at lower revs and will scare the s#!t out of you at higher revs.
CBR is much more low end torquey than the king of low end torque "the karizma" so you'll fall in love with it straightaway.
Also has the capacity to do a 160 without sweating a breath.
The only difference that I found between the CBR and the Ninja, is that Ninja is more compact (although longer), much more quicker and is harsh on the rider.
About the Suzuki 250, i can straightaway guess what the power-band and the ease the bike would be blessed with, but its been speculated from over 2 years, I remember I had written a nice essay on this bike when I used to write for a portal (which never got famous) and until one day the domain got expired.
It would be more of a commuter and street oriented bike which any day will be better. But I don't expect it to come out soon, as its been speculated ever since.
Even if you want to buy a bike or not, first test ride it all the options you have nicely.
Maybe the CBR is in your liking right now, if I were you I would have ridden the R15, CBR 250, CBR 150, the duke and then decide if I really want to buy any bike.
I used to love the duke and was wanting it badly back in the day, but the day I rode it, I changed my mind.
Maybe the same would happen to you for the CBR, you never know...
So just go out there and ride all the bikes, you'll stand clear as what you want, maybe you'll prefer re-boring and new-heading the fiero for years to come!
You never know.Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Yes you are right after a decade of love towards fiero many bikes didn't feel right thats the main reason fiero stayed with me this long .
Also the gear shift we do is too early for most of the bikes you are again bang on target.
Again wit 250cc I am worried about the mileage buddy I know I am stupid but cant help. If it is to be a 250cc it should Suzuki 250 twin cylinder .but ( But I don't expect it to come out soon, as its been speculated ever since.) these words make me sadAny way will wait some time .
as per your advice will test drive all the bikes .
BTW The cylinder kit ordered may received today after waiting for 10 days so my boy will become younger by a decade soon.
How are you writing so seamlessly in your posts buddy great. I was thinking to post the replay and decided it should do justice to your neat post but even after two day the replay by me is substandard.
@ gixxer_junkie_m where are you man? come on .Last edited by max007; 04-04-2013, 05:12 PM.

BTW, Sold my Thunderbird and got myself the Suzuki GS150R. My obsession over the Fiero is the reason why I went with the Suzuki. Lets hope it is nearly as good as a Fiero.Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

Besides I had ridden no Ninja back then...

Planning to install a stell braided front brake line on my bike, any comments ???I was enjoying the discussion you had going there with max007 about those bikes.Personally i am a guy who loves top-end hit, especially the kinda hit you'll get from a RX/Shogun fully tuned with a expansion chamber designed to make power at the very top of the rev range.Proton used to make 2 kinda expansion chambers for the same reason, because a choice had to be made and you couldn't have both. Those kinda bikes would go berserk once the power-band was hit and they would be like goggle eyed, saree clad, docile, braided hair, homemaker kind at anything below that rpm range and they'd tear away their sarees to become screaming, man-eating ,blood drinking, wearing a garland of human heads, naked sex-goddesses,who'd prefer being-on-top!

Do go for the steel braided ones,i myself have been thinking of this idea from some time and which one are you thinking of?Last edited by gixxer_junkie_m; 04-06-2013, 08:40 PM.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Love they way you explain things... Your in wrong industry, you belong somewhere else! Maybe a narration of an exotic movie...
I was thinking of pulsar 200's steel braided front line, cost 1100 bucks new, and was hoping to find a used one for roughly 650 bucks, however will visit the mecca of parts soon and see if i can source maybe duke's or some other bike's line.
My front brake has become closer to a drum brake, its been almost 9 years now so I think its high time to change the line, the fiero one would cost close to 900 bucks as I was said, so will definitely go for a steel one.
Bad news, its not even been 500 kms since I've changed the clutch plates and it has already started slipping!
Find a cure...Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Yeah buddy junk yard is THE place for such things,in fact when i was at the mech last week to get the clutch plates replaced,he showed me a sack full of RTR parts.Which consisted ,Complete bore kit, head assembly, clutch assembly, clutch cover, magneto cover,gb sprocket cover all of which he was claiming he got it removed of a brand newish RTR,which they did ,right in front of his eyes at the junkyard! He showed me how new they were and the parts were not even covered by corbon and i am damn sure he was telling the truth. He was claiming such parts, which are that new are hard to come by and made me an offer to buy all of em.He had brought these to fit to a fiero. So you can definitely get any damn thing in such places!
The very same mech has been putting RTR clutch assemblys on to big bore fieros from a few years now and it needs the whole clutch assembly along with the clutch cover of the RTR.He knows how to fit it and it needs some lathe work. This is a once and for all clutch solution for torque lovers like you.As far as i am concerned, that's the next thing on my agenda for my girl.Last edited by gixxer_junkie_m; 04-07-2013, 08:55 PM.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!
