Yesterday Abhi bought a helmet. and it's name is trojan!! Now what would anyone be called ,if caught wearing a 'trojan' on his head?
Never knew Vega helmets had such a whacky/wicked(in Abhi's case) sense of humor!!

Hi PSR & others - I am all here, got busy with lot of personal & official commitments, My bike fell off when it was parked in office due to which my RHS mirror broke along with making my front brake spongy

Man , You only told me after buying one, What's in a name anyway I felt comfortable wearing it & thus bought one..

Now as abhi is here, Gix has started showing his true colors by pulling his leg, or maybe a trojan off his head this time...


any upgrades to any of the bikes so far ???

I recently bought Vega Dominator and find it to be comfortable..

PSR, it was only after I paid for the helmet that Gixxer is telling about this, anyway I do not mind for those unless it fits & I am comfortable enough

Talking about bringing the clan together in this thread, my bike has started giving some weird signals again to keep you all glued...

Today when I rode it on the highway after nearly a week, suddenly it felt like the fuel is off, as the bike was struggling to keep up, but as the tank was almost half I knew it wasn't the issue.

Then it just felt like its struggling to keep running, below 3k rpm it behaved normally, but after 3k in any gear it was feeling the way it feels when the fuel is falling short.

I rode in 4th gear at 3k rpm on the eastern express highway, it was very risky as I am used to the first lane, so moving the bike back to last lane was a herculean task, as I was almost 10kms away from home I somehow didn't want to stop and decided to make it reach home anyhow.
I am pretty sure it was something electrical, as the idling had also dropped very low and exactly at a certain rpm in each gear the bike used to behave strange, the bike used to struggle while climbing the flyovers the way maruti 800 does keeping AC on with 4 people aboard.

But after say 2~3 kms, suddenly the power came back and bike was back to normal again.
Tried ripping it, and it was all good.
Reached home and checked the plug and it was as healthy as new.

Any ideas what it could be ?

Your CV carburetor throttle slide is getting stuck...and once it releases,bike will behave as if there was nothing wrong with it...

Start with the carb first, then if it still persists, move to checking the electricals.

I did do a modification job since the last time as well,although a smaller one in comparison to other things done so far.
The thing is,as mentioned here i had switched over to a RTR gear lever assembly and it was fine till it's flaw came out.To reach the gym i have to cross a field and while doing that a freak mishap occured.That is,a small granite slab , triangular in shape stood up as the front wheel went over it and it hit the gear lever.The thing about RTR gear lever design is that,it's weakest point is where the link-rod's thread portions.That is,the thread area is relatively thin and that's where it broke! It's a freak occurrence i know.But imagine such a thing happening when outside town.
Then luckily a gym friend also owns a fiero and he also had a rusted gear lever at his place.So thanks to gearing being made tall,i put the bike in second gear and rode it to his place and fitted the stock gear lever of the fiero and rode home with some difficulty.The problem was that,due to foot pegs being put rear wards the stock lever's toe shifter was like about 14 inches from the footpeg and the rear heel shifter was a few mms from the foot peg!.So you can imagine what it was like to shift gears Anyway rode like that the next evening and bought a RTR gear lever and fitted it.Thus having found out the vulnerability of this design(which pulsar 180/220 also share) I began searching for a system similar to the one i had when rear-sets were designed.Prior to the RTR gear lever i had modified a ZMa/EXtreme gear lever by welding the cam portion of a fiero one to ensure that it matches the milling of the gear shifter shaft.The reason i had changed this gear lever to that of the RTR was because the ZMA shifter doesn't have a long link rod.Otherwise this design of gear levers where hook kinda system is used is more rugged and reliable,because if something hit's it ,at most it will get bent,but you can still ride it home(same reason i didn't go for clip-on's and opted for a USD pipe handle).So the search began for a new gear lever of a similar design but with a longer linkage rod and luckily a uncle of mine was looking to buy a bike after 2 decades and hence i did a lot of test riding of bikes which gave me a opportunity to check out the gear levers.The best i found was that of the FZ/Fazer and so bought one from the showroom for 240 bucks and then bought a new stock fiero gear lever also (100 bucks).Then got the shaft fitting portion cut from the stock lever to be welded to the FZ one.The FZ lever length is perfect for my bike's custom rear-set and it's shifting cogs like a hot knife through butter.

No updates on my bike, except that I found the RPM fluctuating&horn going slightly weak at times so assumed the battery has reached the end of its life (running since Dec.2009) and gave it to Amaron for checking. He says the battery was just a bit low on charge&is fine now!

My bike is all stock and it has never felt so reliable, still I miss the big bore punch, but the reliability was always a question mark?

Did you park your bike under hot sun?Maybe the fuel tank breather pipe is choked.

When sarvajit was here we met him up and same with Rakesh. A couple of months back i was told by Sri Ganesh that they have about 40 stock fiero bore kits.

230 saar running quite fine.Havent used it since 2.5 months as am in Pattaya now.Moreover am slowly turning into a cager nowadays.
