Knock Knock. Where is everyone? Have you all abandoned your Fieros for newer bikes? This was a really active thread sometime back when I didn't have a Fiero. Now that I have one, the thread is gone dead.

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
If you're putting the 5 speed g'box of the apache rtr, then you are gonna have to change your engine casing too. Because I don't think it will fit in existing fiero casing.
Did you source the fiero starter or an apache rtr one?

Will be sourcing the Apache bottom half with 5 speed gear box. So will fit the Apache starter too.Originally posted by prd8r View PostIf you're putting the 5 speed g'box of the apache rtr, then you are gonna have to change your engine casing too. Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
I want to change the engine oil for my father's 2000 Suzuki Fiero...it has done more than 35000KMS...can't tell exactly as I'm in a different city right now....I also don't know what engine oil is currently in it. I do have the owner's manual but forgot the recommended engine oil grade.....
1. which oil should I use...Semi ( OR ) Fully Synthetic ?
.
2. what is the engine oil drain interval for the fiero.
My List of Fully-Synthetic Oils :-
1. Shell Advance Ultra - 10W40
2. Motul 300V Factory Line - 15W50
3. Motul 7100 4T - 20W50
My List of Semi-Synthetic Oils :-
1. Shell Advance AX7 - 10W40
2. Motul 5100 4T - 15W50Last edited by prasath_xbhp; 06-27-2016, 04:09 PM.My Motorcycles :-

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
can you plz tell what oil grade Suzuki recommends for the Fiero?. are the oil grades same for the TVS Fiero, TVS Fiero F2 and Fiero FX?. mine is a 2000 Suzuki Fiero ( first version ).Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostMy advice: Use 20w40 mineral oil Gulf Pride 4T Plus or Motul. Don't experiment with synthetic oils unless you want a blown oil seal or slipping clutch.
so even a semi-synthetic oil is not good for the Fiero?. ( Shell Advance AX7 and the Motul 5100 )
if mineral oil is the way to go this would be my choice....Shell Advance AX5 20W50

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
20w40 mineral is recommended. I have experimented with fully synthetic and got a blown oil seal. The 10w40 semi synthetic of Apache reduced engine life. 20w50 mineral should be good too. Others are using it.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Mineral oil is the best for all variants of fieros. And yes, as Sarvajit mentioned, 20W40 is the recommended grade although you may use 20w50 mineral for hot climates.
The one you have mentioned is going next in my bike as right now I'm using Shell Advance AX5 20w40 and it's superb! So, I can only imagine how good 20w50 will be.
You can also 20w40 mineral oils by Motul, Gulf and Elf with good results as most members here have used in the past (I did).
Semi-synth seems to seep out of the crankcase a bit and full synth becomes like water and disappears
Doesn't make sense to use them for financial and mechanical reasons...

@ Peter - I think you will be forced to change the crankcase (with registered engine no) to accommodate the 5 speed gearbox; thus, voiding your road legal status.Originally posted by P3T3R View PostI guess you can use the original part of the crankcase which has the number. AFAIK you can split the crankcase.
If you're using your modded fiero off road, then you won't have to dodge the cops
On road and insurance will prove to be a problem.
Why don't you retain fiero's 4 speed lower half and try sprocketing mods to achieve best of both worlds?Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

i'll be putting either the Shell Advance AX5 20W40 or 20W50 in to the fiero....
