Shree I have found TL has great side wall strength and less prone to punctures than TT. This is from my experience of ceat vertigo on cbz which I never faced a puncture for as good as 15k kms until I sold the bike.

Well in that case and if you are really interest you can try getting spoke wheels sealed. This is cheapest option than alloys !Originally posted by abhilashabhi12 View PostShree I have found TL has great side wall strength and less prone to punctures than TT. Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
I have finally finished reading the entire thread. I noticed that on a few occasions the comparison was made with the GS 150 R. Several members stated that the Fiero was a better bike but the specs say something different. I'm posting the specs of the Fiero and the GS 150 R from the respective threads. I have highlighted the points where the GS 150 R is superior. OK someone mentioned that the GS 150 R suspension is soft compared to the Fiero.
GS 150R
Engine
Type Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC
Bore x Stroke (mm) 57.0 x 58.6
Displacement (cm3) 149.5

Transmission 6-speed (1-down, 5-up)
Suspension

FIERO

Tail lamp 12V 5/10 W
So my question is: Does it make more sense to buy a GS 150 R and replace the shocks with stiffer ones rather than buying a Fiero and then fitting a disk brake, alloys, tachometer, fairing or dome light etc. Besides the GS150 R is better looking. The Fiero in stock form does have oddball styling.
I don't mean to offend any Fiero owners. Just asking this question as GS 150 R's are available very cheap (16K) for a bike around 2 years old with self start and disk brake.

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
Dude gs150 is completely different than fiero. If u ask me at this point of time you will be better off buying fiero as you can get most of the spares except cosmetics in the form of rtr series where as in GS it's not compatible and another headache with suzuki is its not easy to get spares outside of ASCssigpicAll India Permit 1+1

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
No gs150 was a complete new engine from ground up by Suzuki while TV's took fiero and made it in to rtr series. Can't find one gs150 for sale I.e brand new in any of the showrooms in Bangalore. Suzuki is busy selling gixxer and SF with accesssigpicAll India Permit 1+1

Nope. The architecture is definitely different. It employs a different bore stroke ratio. It's oil circulation is internally routed. GS also has 2 extra gears, where the 6th is overdrive and some say the 5th too. IMHO, I feel it's designed for the highway and for mileage-conscious working professionals. Thus, the wheelbase is longer, suspension is softer and weight is approx 25 kilos more than a fiero for stability.
The Fiero enjoys power-to-weight ratio over the GS, shorter wheelbase for better manoeuvrability, rugged gearbox, chassis durability, etc. Thus, it is easily modded for motocross or other sporty purposes. It's still fine for commuting too though. Owners of the Yamaha RX 100 will share this sentiment.
Different engines keep getting made by the same manufacturer just as is the case with Suzuki/TVS/etc.
If the fiero interests you, but you want the latest bells and whistles with it - then opt for any of the apache rtr series, which uses the fiero engine architecture but with bigger bore/cylinder, 5 speed gearbox, ABS, digi console, looks, etc and all the rest which can be googled. Looks are subjective
Ride it like you stole it! But buy your own helmet.

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
Years ago when I visited Argentina, I remember seeing a fully faired 150 cc Suzuki which had the same engine as the Fiero. Googled and found pictures of the Suzuki FXR 150. The bike I saw looked like this but the engine was exactly like the Fiero. The engine in the pics looks similar but not exactly like the Fiero.
